6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Boring Gray Dress Pants into cute little cropped ones on: September 15, 2007 09:33:46 PM
I haven't posted in a while... But I have a TON of boring and/ or too big clothes I wanted to re-do into reconstructed pieces....

I turned these pants in cropped pants and then used part of the cuff to make loops on the inside so they would ruche and then added  black satin ribbon to make bows on the sides......Turned out O.K. I think

Thanks for Looking!

I want to alter pants that are store bought and just want to make them smaller.. so the crotch is done and sewn up... How do I use my dress form to alter them when it has that pole in the middle?

The funny little horizontal rod is for marking even hemlines- drives me crazy & I'm going to take mine off untill I need to use it. (Try not to kick that sucker...)

Pants, hmmm. I know there are special pants fitting forms that are sort of under the bustline to the knees. You should be able to at least make hip & waist adjustments using the regular form as long as the crotch isn't sewn yet- other than that it gets tricky.

That's My problem tho.... the pants I am altering are actually store bought and just want to make them smaller.. so the crotch is done and sewn up... so Now what?

and thanx for solving that "arm thingy mystery"...heehhee
