I got those "vintage" buttons from michaels and they seem totally fake.

ehh, what could I really expect for $5.99.

*idea* cover a cheapo glass candle thingie with buttons....

Today I was just looking at this thing about how you can use them to make really fun prints on paper. You cut them in half (up the bum area), fill the toes w/ wadded up heavier fabric/ old clothes, tie a knot above wadded mass... and bounce them on the paper or whatever while standing above. seemed super fun to me. Plus you could probably get different effects w/ different fillers for the toes.

Oh, yeah....... paint, duh, dip them in paint! THE most important part.

( can you tell it was a long day at work)

166  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Favorite "Weird" Food? on: January 21, 2007 10:01:29 AM
My mom always does this weird thing where she puts bread or cracker crumbs in her hamburger meat, I think it is one of those things she learned growing up in a big family to make enough food for 8 people. But one time she put in whole cheez-its.  I guess it is not that gross but it sure looked weird.

I also have a friend that insists on putting ketsup on everything... including ice cream and french toast. She even went so far as to carry a large bottle of heinz around in her bag... "just in case"

my dad also likes to pile leftovers of every junkfood on a plate and cover it w/ ketsup and eat it... disgusting!

are you talking about the ones you make in pie irons over a fire?

really simple circle aprons. Sooooooooo easy and really cute... also goes with the theme I believe.  Plus you could do lots of stuff to them!
169  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: Unmotivated - Is this even worth continuing? on: January 16, 2007 09:10:42 AM
keep going, maybe look at old doodles or make some new ones and try to play off of those. Actually, it kinda remids me of austrailian aboriginal stuff... the lines and dots. You can always cover it up... besides you don't have to fill the wall. It could be a border? Possibilities are endless, but don't continue if it is not fun for you. Stuff that I work on when I am not into it I am never really satisfyed with. Good Luck!

what about instead of painting tiles you cut out squares of bamboo looking contact paper. I wonder how that might look. Plus it is reversible, but you would have to be very precise. (I personally think you have some decent tile, I have seen much worse)

Funny that I came upon this, I am moving next month and plan to do a tiki bathroom also... thanks for the inspiration!
