1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Help, Please! I want to make an iPod-playing purse! on: February 12, 2007 11:47:38 AM
I just bought some absolutely gorgeous fabric from cheap threads and want to make a giant purse out of it. That, I can do.

And there's this little shop here on the South Side of Pittsburgh that sells purses with speakers built in and an iPod hookup, so that you can play your iPod through your purse. Awesome, right? Except they cost like $60, and none of them are big enough.

My problem is that I don't know where on earth I would buy the speakers and ipod hookup to put into a purse that I would make myself. Does anyone have any ideas? Or am I going to have to sell all of my earthly possessions to buy one of the purses at the shop just to rip it apart for the speakers?

If you have any ideas at all let me know! If this ever gets done I will post pictures and a tute for sure.

3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / First post: Make a postcard out of a Polariod! on: January 08, 2007 01:55:00 AM
Well, obviously the first thing that I need to say in this post is that YOU ARE ALL GENIOUSES. I have been crafting/sculpting/drawing/painting since I was 12 years old, and it hurts my heart a lot that it took me until the ripe old age of 19 years old to find this goldmine of ... amazing.

Now, I'm at college right now, and that means limited materials. All my crafty stuff is at home. What I do have though...

Is a bunch of blurry/way too dark/horribly out of focus Polaroids from the camera I got for Christmas and was learning how to use for the first week or so. (Yes, they still make Polaroid cameras, and in my opinion every person with an artistic bone in their body needs one.)

ANYWAY I took one of my mistakes and made a postcard for my aunt with it out of the limited crafting supplies I have here (i.e. a sewing kit). I'm sure that sooo much more could be done with them, along the lines of the beautiful ATC's I've seen on here.

I like the fact that you can write a message on it Polaroid-style.

Beforesss. Okay, I didn't actually use these ones. But I guess I could think of something crafty to do with them... a little book, maybe? With one as the cover and the title written in the caption space?
