1  UNITED STATES / South Dakota / Crafting, crocheting.... doing anything in Sioux Falls??? on: April 28, 2011 09:40:41 PM
I am wondering if anyone know of any thing going on in Sioux Falls?  I would love to find a crochet group!  Or a crafting group?  Any takers? Huh
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Not so nice door hangers... on: March 03, 2011 07:18:19 PM
I was just reading someone else post where they made a sign for their house to not leave flyers... And it remended me of this little projectI did when my husband and I managed apartment complexes and we lived on site....  Grin  Please use your sense of humor here... A bunch of girls from the complex and I started a "lady's nite"  When we have ladies nite we alway have a theme for a pot luck and a craft.... and one of the crafts that I hosted we used old ceiling fan blades... which are changed out in apartments all the time... so we all made door hangers...Now just to let you know this was done with humor .. But I did hang it out on our door at nite... You can not imagine all the people that would knock on our door late at night for non emergency things...  BTW the residence loved it!  LOL!  I did put the do not disturb on the other side of the blade for when I was feeling less frisky!  And it did work... the dumb nonsense door caller ... for "my cable isn't working" or I losted my key... and I know I am way drunk".  LOL!  I never minded it when I was awake... but it got real old when they would get you out of bed... 3, 4, 5, 6 times a nite!

As you can see this side of the sign got scraped up a bit.
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Girly Bathroom on: February 27, 2011 11:49:16 PM

This is in my bathroom.. I painted this on one wall.... I even added rhinestones to it!  I am still adding to it as the spirit moves me!

Here are some of the treasures I have found at the Goodwill, second hand store, and rummage sales... all different clear glass cups, glasses, trays, containers and bowls ... us
ed for jewelry, makeup, change, hair clips and rings.

More glass containers... and old perfume bottles, old doilys....

Another treasure found at the goodwill!  You can barely see the Pink Panther curtain I made!

This hung in my bedroom in the 70's... it now hangs in my bath!

you can see that I painted the inserts on the cupboards a magenta pink and added some funky flower stickers that I found at the Dollar Tree!

Not a great photo... but you can get the idea... This is my collection of mens tie's!  All 108 of them!

Beads from New Orleans hanging from the ceiling hold all my hair flower clips!  A $3 star burst clock I found at the Goodwill.... it was in very rough shape.. I painted it and put rhinestones on!  Also my collection of vintage scarves.

Anpther shot of my painted wall.. you can also see the Pink Panther curtain I made... and yes it does have tie's in it!

I love my bathroom! It is a real treat to have my own!  Hope you enjoy my kookyness!
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / my Black and White Kitchen on: February 27, 2011 11:25:57 PM

This is my kitchen.. we put down the black and white vinyl squares, painted the cupboards white , and the walls black

There is an accent wall/nook by the breakfast bar... you can see the canvas that my step daughter painted!  The countertops are next to be replaced! You can see the switch plates on the wall that I covered with a black and white fabric and mog poged.

Here you can see the accent painting I have started on the cupboard trim using some black paint, a cork from a wine bottle, and a dish soap cap!

Here is my step stool.. I rescued this cute little footstool from the dumpster.. painted the legs black, recovered it with this awesome hounds tooth sweater that I pickup at the Goodwill and added some bullion fringe that I have had in a box for 10 years...knowing I would find something to do with it!

Hope you like the final look... I can't wait to replace the counters... but they don't look totally horrible.. the dining and living room, and kitchen are all open.. and we put laminate flooring throughout... with the exception of the black and white tiles!
