61  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Dealing with discoloration on: June 22, 2004 02:53:54 PM
I found a spectacular purple and white striped pillowcase that is going to be a pencil skirt, but i noticed after bringing it home that one side of it is all water-discolored. [cringes] I can't bear to give up this skirt, so i have to think of a way to disguise the dicoloration. Would soaking it in tea briefly even out the color of it? Or does anyone have a different idea?
62  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / What to do with a vintage scarf? on: June 19, 2004 02:00:49 AM
I've had this scarf lying around for at least 8 years and it just occurred to me that i should make it into something rather than keeping it stuck in a drawer (i never wear scarves). This thing is absolutely gorgeous. Purples and pinks in an art nouveau sort of floral design on ivory silk. The floral design is only at either end of the scarf, so i have 2 pieces about 14"x9" that i want to do Something with. The problem is, i have no idea whatsoever about what to do with two rectangles of silk. Anyone have any idea?

P.S. sorry there's no picture.......my digital camera hates me  Cry

update!! picture a la ghetto scanner method! sorry it's so crappy.

update- [looks around at all the conspicuously silent viewers. hmmmm......i could swear i put this on the right board..........IS IT ME??!??!!! OR IS IT MY SCARF???!!!
