1  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Where's the wine bottles?! AGH! on: September 27, 2008 03:14:13 PM
My husband and friend are making wine.  It's great and wonderful but the silly boys have way too much wine in the making...and not enough wine bottles.  We've managed to snag some bottles from friends and such...but not enough to get through all the Christmas wine we'll be forking out this year.  Any ideas where I can find some free wine bottles?  I've already tried craigslist....
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Agh! Last minute wedding gift help! on: August 01, 2007 12:56:53 PM
My husband and I just got an invitation to his cousin's wedding...in three weeks (on my birthday to be exact...but I will be a big girl and not sulk...much).  I've only met his cousin three times (once at my wedding, and the other two were at family functions and we didn't talk much).  All I know about her is that she JUST graduated, she seems very classy and level-headed (for a teenager at least, lol), but appears to have a very sharp tongue and quite a sense of humor.  Neither my husband nor I know the groom-to-be.

So, what in the world do I make for her?  We're pretty low on money, but they spent serious money on our bridal gifts.  The store-bought gift will probably be a nice frame for a wedding picture, but I'd like to make her something personal.  I can sew, I can crochet a little, I can  paint when needed, I can cook...help!

I made this...um...forever ago, and I thought I already posted it, but apparently not.  Tongue

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / I Love TWEED! on: July 28, 2007 06:29:52 AM
So I have tons of this tweed material that was being kept to make at least a skally cap for my hubby...but I made these for me instead.  Like usual, I didn't use a pattern, I just kind of went at it.  Smiley

Ignore the wrinkles...I was too excited to iron them yet.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / All by myself! on: March 29, 2007 01:26:35 PM
Yes!  My first dress I've created all by myself!  I just grabbed some fabric and started cutting and sewing.  lol.  I'm lucky how well it turned out.  Smiley

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / A gazillion colors on: March 23, 2007 10:11:18 AM
I made this skirt for a trade a few days ago.  I've decided that I know LOVE trades and swaps.  lol.  Anywho, it's made out of tshirts.

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Lots of old tshirts on: March 16, 2007 01:58:39 PM
I have this tote full of clothes that I've been meaning to reconstruct or something, but after opening it I decided I was too lazy for anything complicated.  So I made a skirt out of tshirts.  Yay!  Nothing too fancy, but it's recycled and pretty.   Grin

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My pink aline skirt...or is it pink? on: March 07, 2007 07:31:02 PM
I'm pretty sure this skirt is pink...but maybe rose.  Anywho, doesn't matter.  It's pretty and I'm making an extra just for me to keep.  Look okay??

My son was so proud of himself for sneaking into this pic before the cameras timer was up.  Smiley
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Runaway to Cancun Pants on: March 06, 2007 05:59:40 AM
You know how on tv, everyone that goes to Mexico, Cancun or any other beachy place, has this awesome white pants?  The real lightweight breazy kind?  Well, I HAD to make my own.

Do they look anything like the real thing?  I made the top, too.  Yay!

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Kimono? What kimono? on: February 24, 2007 10:30:48 PM
One of my exes had given me a kimono one year after he had been in Korea.  Not knowing what to do with one, it stayed in the back of my closet.  Recently, I had discovered I still had it and realized how gorgeous the fabric was (and how much I hated I still had it).  So, I made two throw pillows and a purse for my sister (which I'll post later).  Sorry the pics are so crappy (same for the couch...hehe).
