51  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: looking quick knit patterns for people who get bored easily on: January 22, 2007 05:00:40 PM
"Speed knitting" is a great one for you, I was just about to suggest it.  Also "last minute knitted gifts"

I am pretty impatient, too.  I make a lot of hats, scarves, wrist-warmers and stuff like that.

Beautiful!  Those are my favorite colors together!

Very pretty.  Grey is my favorite color.
I like the sophisticated colors with the "fluffy" texture.  It's an interesting
contrast.  A very classy scarf.

Awesome scarf!

I knit a lot while watching baseball since it is so slow and tense.  Otherwise I bite my fingertips off!!

You are soooo lucky!  Circular needles are awesome.  I use them for flat and in the round.   You have to have them for sweaters, hats, etc but they are really cool for all knitting as you are less likely to poke yourself and others, lose the other needle or fill up your needle when making wide stuff like ponchos or afghans.  I could rant on....

This yarn looks so cool, I love the colors.

This is my favorite scarf pattern ever.  I have made a boring amount of them because I love watching how the colors interact.  If you use the noro (I don't know if it is the same for your substitution) it ends up kind of short so I subtract 2 stitches from the pattern to make a longer, thinner scarf.

Your hat looks great.

I use circulars now for everything I can get away with, scarves and other flat stuff, tubes, whatever.  If you use longer ones even when you do flat stuff it's a lot more comfortable, no more poking yourself or others with long needles!

The hard part of the kitty hat for me was picking up the stitches.  I kind of ending up doing something that didn't look like SnB directions but came out looking right.  Since it's picking up you can do it and tear it out until it looks right.

Good luck!
