1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Norml, hearts, and bondage on: June 03, 2008 02:03:24 PM
So I had this norml shirt that was given to me by my dad but it was a 3x so i really couldn't do anything with it at the time. So the other day I cut it down for the logo and added a black knit band to the top and bottom. Also added some heart buttons to show some love for norml =p

And I took a pair of tripp pants and sewed em up into a skirt. Both simple as hell but it was fun.

ok enough talking..

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Short Halter top on: July 14, 2007 04:29:56 AM
Well I've been looking around and I'm trying to find a pattern or tut for a short halter top and by short i mean stops at belly button. I just got it pierced and right now its a little too sensitive to have a shirt rub it and baggy clothing makes me feel to over heated (and yes I wanna show it off =p)
Kinda like this one ... https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=57746.0

so any general help for that would be appreciated, i don't really mind the style of the neck just looking for something of that length thank you all and any online jewelry places you like I wouldn't mind seeing either =p

4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / You can never have too many hatchet men on: June 24, 2007 05:36:15 PM
ok so I was going through my clothes this laundry day and I said to myself "you know, you need another shirt with a hatchet man on it." So here it is, with twiztid on the front because thats one I don't have

there both really straight I'm just standing weird.

And they match my undies I made last week because I refuse to pay $15 unless its something thats lace/crotchless and instantly gonna get me laid on sight. Modeled by my ironing board lol

This is the back

And the front

Let me know what you think, first time I've stenciled that isn't on a hard object with spray paint.
5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Starting an Embroidered rug on: June 23, 2007 02:04:39 AM
Um so as the title says I'd like to make a rug with a lot of twisting details, I've tried cross stitch and latch hooking but it doesn't come out right so I'm thinking of jumping back into embroidery to do it. So I've searched and I'm not sure the best way to go about it, I was thinking of just buying a base colored rug and then doing embroidery on top of it, or embroidering all of it.

Would you have any suggestions on what material to use as a base rug or would a bath mat from walmart work? Should I use yarn or heavy embroidery floss to go through it?
6  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Outlaw Nation Stencil help on: June 22, 2007 02:12:53 AM
Has anybody found a good stencil of the band Outlaw Nation, I've only found one on there myspace but other then that I can't really find anything, any help would be really appreciated.
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Mmmn black checkered, red, and brass brads *Img Loaded Goodness* on: April 24, 2007 11:36:53 PM
Yeah so I'm redoing my room and I couldn't wait to post, this is a chair that I redid. Got it on craigslist for 10$, stripped it of its original 50's fabric and foam and spent about 20$ for material, foam, stain, brads, and batting.... Heres the results. Any comments or advice would be appreciated.

Whole view, with one of my cats on it, that love it so much I can't keep em off it. As you can tell by the hair lol

Back brad design and view of fabric, its not pinstriped just has a ridge that makes it look like it on camera.

Front brad design and you can see how I pleated to corners instead of sewing. The brads are straight its just my camera

Side brads and whatnot

Original fabric with AA battery for size comparison lol

Anyway I love it and have enough fabric left over for pillows for my bed.

8  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / alginate/body double supplies on: April 24, 2007 06:43:58 PM
I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this please move this mods if you could.

I'm looking for someplace that sells alginate, body double, or any other silicone casting. I found a place in southern California that sells alginate for 30$ for 5lb but I'm planing to do my whole body and then back it with plaster, I'm using it as a slip cast btw not a straight pour and pull out thing. My sculpture teacher at the college is unsure about a good price as the school usually orders it but because I'm using such a large amount they won't cover it, however my high school might as long as its on site payment and pickup...

Anyway I'm not sure what would be a good, deal I've been looking around online and would really like to try body double as it sounds a bit easier than alginate, but any silicone or even a latex base would work however I am worried about this as I have a slight allergy to latex, not enough that its dangerous in small amount but I get a rather interesting rash from it. So I'm not even really sure if it is an allergy, sorry I'm sidetracking here. Anyway any information you could tell me would be great.

I'm fairly good when it comes to slip casting my body, I've made full leg cast before but doing the chest area has been pretty difficult as it cracks half way through pouring, because of the breathing even when you separate your body into different sections.

Thank you for your time.
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Baby shower and gifts for mother help on: April 16, 2007 03:15:12 AM
Alright well my best friend is pregnant and I'm set on making her something.

But one of the people that I hang out with in my sculpture class's wife is due in 2 weeks and I would like to make her something (I haven't met her though) and so is my boyfriends, step-moms, sisters, friends daughter (who is hosting the baby shower at the sisters house, and I will be going to help watch all the little ones and prepare for the party) Because I don't know these people so well I was pondering how appropriate it would be for me to make something for them. I would like to just because I love making things for kids (my main job is babysitting lol) and there parents when it comes to things like this.

I was considering making a taggie or a rag quilt out of flannel but I'm worried about the safety of this. I'm not sure what age its ok for them to have something like a rag quilt or a taggie, so would a normal flannel blanket be better?

Along with that I would also like to make some matching burp cloths to go with it. Is double sided flannel enough for absorption or would there be something better to use?

I would like to include a few gifts for the mom so I was thinking of one of those heated rice packs and some lavender foot soaking salts.

Is there anything else that would be better or would be wanted by the mother? Any advice or comments would be appreciated.
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Whats your "not my grandmas sweater" pattern on: February 13, 2007 02:29:59 AM
Ok so my boyfriend doesn't believe that crocheting is sexy. And mostly it reminds him of his grandma who crochets allot.

Well I am on a mission to prove to him that crochet is sexy, fun, and not his grandma's clothes.

So I'm asking for the help of you to post your favorite sexy, fun, and young patterns. So whether it be lingerie or just a pair of socks, I'd really appreciate your help.
