1  Re: Craft My Wists-Summer 2008 Swap in The Swap Gallery by porfavoray on: August 04, 2008 10:31:02 AM
Hi! I recieved my package from Craftster21 today!

She sent me a black and red dress, Snape shirt, bird ornament, stenciled gloves, and matching necklace, bracelet and earrings. I love it all!

First, everything:

The dress, which fits perfectly and I love:

Lastly, the jewelry, earrings, necklace, bracelet:

I apologize for the pictures. There seems to be something on the lense that I can't get off.

2  Starburst Book! Yay! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by porfavoray on: June 26, 2008 06:20:23 PM
I was browsing book styles, and decided to make a little one to go along with a swap package I am sending out tomorrow. Luckily, it is secret type swap, so I feel no qualms about posting it now!

Here is the book closed. It is about an inch and a half square. The cover is a bit of lovely origami paper.

Opened up, it's like a starburst!

The first folded-type book I have ever made. I hope my partner likes it!

3  Embroidered Matryoshka Hankies in Needlework: Completed Projects by porfavoray on: June 25, 2008 11:02:58 AM
Hankies are coming back. Not only are they good for the environment, but do you really want to take a crumpled old Kleenex out of the pocket of the coat you're wearing for the first time since last winter, instead of a lovely embroidered handkerchief?

I wouldn't.

So I made some cute ones to give away and keep.  So far I have four finished, and am working on a matching tea towel and some more hankies.

And some embroidery close-ups:

Thank you for looking!

Here are the pictures of my intended swap package: two embroidered handkerchiefs! Very colorful matryoshka dolls in the corner. Hankies are very useful.

Both dolls:

1 doll:

The other doll:

I hope they're enough. I spent a while on them(embroidery is time-consuming), but are they big enough?

5  slouchy handspun beret in Knitting: Completed Projects by porfavoray on: May 04, 2008 09:57:51 AM
I made a beret. It was really really quick. Like, an hour.  I spun the brown yarn, the variegated is from a swap I participated in.  I love this hat.  It's so open and sparkly and wonderful.  Did I mention it was quick, too?

I recieved my very last package from LizzieMcguire!

Inside were a lovely slouchy hat(I've worn it for the past two days!), a bunch of red roving that she dyed herself with kool-aid, a Breakfast at Tiffany's napkin, two blue stitch markers, a scarf for my Blythe, and a matching necklace and earrings. With a cloud!

The necklace and earrings:

Thanks a ton, Elisabeth!

7  Re: Fiber Friday 4/4/08 in Spinning: Completed Projects by porfavoray on: April 04, 2008 04:24:38 PM
Oh, my! These yarns are so lovely. I have only just started spinning, and here is some yarn that I made, out of natural brown wool.  I got it in a swap. I love it. I have another skein that my Swap Partner spun.  I am thinking a tam, or thick handwarmers.

Anywayz, pictures!:

So I got the second part of my second package today!

Here are the lovely goods:

Lovely wool for to spin, with some homespun of her own(the first part of my second package was a learn-to-spin kit):

A feathered comb, melted bead coaster, and earrings shaped like slices of pie:

And of course I had to go put on bright red lipstick and take a picture wearing the comb. I was compelled.

Like my bathroom?

Thanks so much, LizzieMcGuire!

9  Burgundy cabled fingerless mittens. Oh, my! in Knitting: Completed Projects by porfavoray on: March 27, 2008 11:10:29 AM
So I have this thing for things that keep my hands warm.  I just really hate to have cold hands. Which sucks, because I always do. So fingerless mittens and gloves are a godsend for me.  My dexterity is not hindered, but I am not freezing, either. Yay!

Now, onto the pictures!

The two together, layed over in an arty way Kiss :

On my hand.  It is harder than you would think to get an action shot of both, when you're alone in the house.  I suppose I could have asked the mailman, but I'm not that intimate with him.

Just because I can. And I think it's cute.

Pattern is forthcoming on my blog. I just really don't want to draw up a graph in Paint. Le sigh.
Anyways, yeah.  My lovely little handwarmers. So much nicer than the plain black acrylic ones I had been using for a while *cough*two years*cough*

Kay, so here is the first product of my new spindle (thanks so much, LizzieMcguire!)
Yeah. It's not that great, really uneven, overspun in some places, underspun in others.  Smells rather strongly of barn.  However, I love it.
