11  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / "shabby-chic" baby blanket..cute pastels!! on: July 13, 2006 01:35:57 PM
hi there.

i recently finished this quilt for my mom's co-worker friend who was expecting a little baby girl. i just did normal squares but i mixed them up randomly. the back is yellow minky and the binding is a light pink. i liked that the blanket isn't a sea of pink...it's almost unisex, but some of the quilt squares has a pattern on it that has little footprints and says "it's a girl". thanks for looking!

13  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / BABY diaper bag- first attempt! on: May 23, 2006 02:25:06 PM
My first attempt at a diaper bag, and it turned out pretty well. This was for a friend of a friend. She's expecting but is leaving the sex of the baby a surprise for the end so we chose some "neutral" colors. She wanted it to be very natural...almost beachy looking. There are side pockets on the exterior for bottles and other knick-knacks. The interior has a pocket up high for Mom's keys and things and the bottom of the bag has 6 elastic pockets total for diapers, a changing pad, bottles, and other things that I have no clue about. Smiley The handles were purchased and added on....I'm not THAT talented. heh.

the exterior is kind of a canvas/jute type fabric.

the interior was striped flannel, some more canvas/jute, and regular cotton orange print.

thanks for looking! Tongue

i made this for a cupcake swap recently. the exterior is pink polka dot on navy blue corduroy and the interior is the same fleece ice cream cone interior as my tinafish slouchy bag.  Grin

here are the rest of the cupcake goodies i made:

just scroll to the bottom. it's at the bottom of page 11.  Cheesy
15  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Vintage Granny Purse on: April 10, 2006 08:21:12 PM
This purse is made of vintage upholstery fabric and is embellished with vintage gold buttons, rick rack, and ribbon. The interior is lined with an old fashioned looking cotton quilt fabric and is also interfaced with quilt batting for extra support. The handles are brown corduroy with a faint pink that shows through the ribbing. The two front buttons and a ribbon loop create a nice closure for the purse.
The size is about 13"w x 8"h (18"h with handles). You can see the rest of my work at www.tinanealis.com.

Thanks for looking!

18  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / fashionista olive leather clutch on: August 10, 2005 08:55:00 PM
my latest... a friend of mine wanted a really chic, fashionable clutch. she loves going out salsa dancing and wanted a really sleek yet funky clutch to carry. this is what i came up with. the leather is absolutely amazing on this thing. it was left over real leather from a custom furniture place so it's really top quality. i decided to turn the leather inside out and sewed the "wrong" side out. i loved the texture. she is very stylish and is obssessed with shoes!... and so i found this fabric that was absolutely perfect for her. i added a few embellishments here and there....and voila!

anyway here are the results:

thanks for looking! Smiley Smiley Smiley

19  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / i love brown corduroy...yes i do on: July 21, 2005 08:15:34 AM
here are two of my latest.

this one's just a medium sized purse. kind of floppy but i like it that way. with polka dot interior with doggies too. and some fun random stuff on the outside.

this one is a book bag for a friend. she loves wine so the interior has wine bottles and grapes galore. the outside was random design again....i tried to make a bunch of grapes... it kind of passes as that.

enjoy. thanks for looking!

oh and here's a new one i fnished last night. this was finished on my brand new bernina!!!! i'm so so so so excited to have it. anyway, here are quite a few pictures of my new purse... bare with me. Smiley

"latch" closure...just kind of made it up as i went...

thanks again for looking!  Kiss

brand spankin' new!

here's my latest. a cord clutch with some fun twists to it. i'm debating on whether i should add a cord for your wrist? but the clutch is about 12" long... too big for a handle?

enjoy. thanks for looking   Smiley
