1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Looking for a pattern on: December 02, 2007 05:24:13 PM
Has anyone seen a pattern similar to this:

I'm not looking for anything free... I just really like it! Smiley

Thank you!

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Rolled brim skull cap anyone? on: November 29, 2004 10:24:15 AM
Hello, I was wondering if anyone has/knows where to find a pattern for a rolled brim skull cap.  I have looked and haven't really found what I'm looking for.  If anyone has seen The Professional (a marginally ok movie with Natalie Portman in it), the hat I'm looking for is like the one that Leon wears, or like the hat that Ginger wears in Chicken Run (haha, claymation hat!!).

thank you!!
3  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / the go-everywhere, go-with-everything cardigan question on: November 24, 2004 03:18:34 PM
I have been working on the go-everywhere cardigan (from the first SNB book) for an embarrassingly long time, but I just had a thought...  Would it be possible to add pockets to the front?  I have no idea how to do this and I was wondering if anyone could help me out.

thanks so much!!

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Kitty Collar! on: November 22, 2004 07:25:41 AM
I know this is a little dorky, but I knitted my kitten a collar yesterday and I thought she was just so cute I had to share!

I cast on 5 stitches of the lions brand fun fur and worked in a garter stitch until it fit her.  I used the claspy thingy from a collar that didn't fit her anymore. (shes gotten really fat, but not any taller, so shes kind of triangle shaped right now!)

Ok!  hope you all don't think I'm too nerdy!  Grin
5  UNITED STATES / Minnesota / Studio Spaces? Anyone? on: September 03, 2004 10:35:33 AM
Hi!  I just (well not just, a year ago) finished at the U of MN,and I am now studioless!  (Well... again, my kind and loving parents are letting me use their basement!) I am a potter and I am in desperate need of a studio that is not in a wet, spider infested (ish...) basement!  If anyone knows of any resourses for finding affordable space I would reeeeealy appriciate it!!

Thanks so much!

6  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Easy Recipes on: August 23, 2004 02:30:47 PM
My brother has Down Syndrome and living independently.  One of his goals it to learn to cook and I was wondering if anyone had any easy, tasty recipes that he could make or easy cooking book that anyone could suggest?

Thanks so much!
7  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Where can I find plaid? on: August 18, 2004 08:51:08 AM
ok, this might seem like an unusual request, BUT I was wondering if anyone knew where one could purchase a specific plaid pattern.  I'm looking for my grandmothers family plaid, she got a ton of it in Scotland many years ago, but all I have left of it is like a foot square scrap.  (She made the most hideous pants out of it for my dad.  It still sends me into fits of laughter when I think about them.)  On that note, I thought that I would make myself a jacket out it... heehee.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / New look pattern 6158, sizing question on: August 16, 2004 09:53:14 AM
Ok, so after measuring incorrectly the first time, I am bound and determined to make this skirt fit!  Anyway, I was looking at the measurements on the back of the envelope and to my surprise/dismay, the size that it says I should be accoding to my measurements is a 16!  i wear a 6!  And to make it more confusing, the hip measurements for the size six is larger than my actual waist measurements.  I'M CONFUSED!! HELP ME!!!  Should I just lay a skirt that fits me on the pattern and see which is closest?

Heres a picture if anyone has made this skirt..   <<removed link to broken image>>

Thanks so much!
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / ipod tote, handbag and my awesome sewing machine on: August 05, 2004 09:51:17 PM
I *heart* my ipod and the silly case they give you with it scratches the front of it, so after seeing all of the ipod totes I was inspired to make my own.

Also, to continue showing off Smiley, I made this bag a few weeks ago:

and the inside:

(I also *heart* my freshly painted green table!)

I started sewing a few months ago when my dad gave me my greatgrandmothers sewing machine, I think it is beautiful and it makes a lovely chain stitch.

If anyone has any comments on my bags, please tell me!

p.s. sorry about the giant pictures!!
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Issues with my finished scarf.... on: July 29, 2004 09:58:15 AM
So I was totally inspired by the mini-skull scarf https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?board=22;action=display;threadid=4399 and I had a skein of yarn laying around so I thought I would try it.  I am still a beginner, I just started knitting last winter and I have a few issues with my scarf:

here is the whole finished scarf:

Here is my 1st problem:  I'm not very good at following directions properly and I think I messed up the part where you make the keyhole.  I'm not sure where that lump on the side of my scarf came from...  (I think that the pics are gigantic, so I'm just going to post the URL.)  http://tinypic.com/1ahqb

My second problem: If you are making a rib stitch, are you supposed to bind off knit, then purl?  or doesn't it matter?  the end of my scarf looks really funny. http://tinypic.com/1ahqa

Thanks for your help!
