I've  been vending a few events and finally decided to make a money apron. It's nothing fancy but it will work for me. I free handed it by looking at a picture of one online. the next one i make will be wider.

13  CLOTHING / Sewing Pattern Reviews / butterick pattern 4954- EARLY 20TH CENTURY COSTUME on: May 30, 2007 07:41:54 PM

This is a fabulous pattern! Very easy to sew for intermediate level. you need to be comfortable with button holes and be willing to try a pleated back end (literally)
I made the lining of the jacket out of the same material as the skirt.

I found that this pattern of course runs large so go a size smaller than what your measurements are and then you will need to take in the waist if yours runs a normal size.  I should have taken in mine but i didnt' know any better at the time. I actually ended up making two jackets and one is too large. I may sell it.

Over all the jacket only takes about 4 hours to sew lining and all and the skirt about 30 -45 minutes
Also the skirt top half can double as a wonderful pencil skirt  I'm making one right now and i'm going to add some fun fringe at the bottom. Smiley

Any questions let me know!

15  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / B&W striped Mini Tricorner Hat , Pirate hat for ye land lubbers! *tut added* on: April 22, 2007 05:22:06 PM
Here a Mini Tricorner hat i made to match the victorian jacket i'm in the process of making.
So i  you can see how small it is, it is placed on top of the neck of my dress form.
At the widest point of the brim it's 6 inches across.
It has a hair clip sewn to the inside of the hat to secure to my hair.  I'm going to add a second one to make sure it's secure and doesn't fall off.
made with Buckram, B&W stirped fabric, White Satin Bow, Satin Ribbon, Black Rayon looped trim, Black Coque feathers and white ostrich feathers.

Hope you enjoy!

17  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Custom Resin Nipple Pasties & matching eye patch *now with pictures and noodity* on: January 21, 2007 09:41:45 PM
I make pasties as part of my living, last year my boyfriend and I delveloped a new type of pastie one cast of resin normally i just put a faux leather backing on them but i got an order from a model and photographer for a larger pair, So i made a custom base for them.
I think i'm going to start making them all with custom bases from now on, this set turned out so great and it gives me way more options with them.
I also made her a matching pirate eye patch.
I can't wait to get the pictures back, the model has a fabulous portfolio same with the photographer.
