41  Re: Make Me a Scarf Swap 2 in The Swap Gallery by lamamarco on: October 30, 2006 03:41:31 PM

Hey guys,

I recieved my scarf from bronzecase, actually quite a bit ago I am embarassed to admit. Anyway, it's totally cool! I have never seen anything like it, and I love the "holy" factor to it! Cheesy It's made up of black interlocking circles and then a combo of the red and black yarn aaround it.

It was really hard to get a picture of the whole scarf!

Close up to show details!

Thanks so much bronzecase. I am hoping to get your scarf out this week, that is if I can knit with lightning speed, I had to frog the whole thing last night, and the worst part is I was more than half way done.

42  Boxy Cosmetic Bag! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by lamamarco on: October 20, 2006 01:40:56 PM

I've been working on this bag all week, I think I've finally gotten over my urge to finish things in one sitting and thus preventing most screw ups and anger fits.  Roll Eyes Haha. Anyway, I was planning on making this type of bag for a swap, but I wanted to make a prototype first, and that's how this bag was born.  Cheesy

I really like the design, although my construction isn't great. But anyway, what do you think? Criticism welcome. Smiley

43  Re: **Looks So FINE** Vinyl Panda Purse (now with extra pictures!) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by lamamarco on: October 11, 2006 06:30:39 PM
im still in awe of this fabulous bag and had a couple questions of going about it.
i was hoping i could get a hold of this pattern:

and modify it to suit the panda, but i don't know if i'll be able to find it anywhere.
sooooo, i was wanting to know how you lined it (if you did)? and how did you place the zipper in?
like was it done with the sew and baste a one inch seam allowance and then tack it in and sew orrr...haha.
any help with this would be great, i'm trying to get an early start and have it ready for a b-day present on the 26th.

You can buy it online.... here...

44  Pillows I made for my mother. in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by lamamarco on: September 28, 2006 04:41:39 PM

So we were at the fabric store, and my mom suddenly decided she wanted me to make her pillows for the couch. She has been looking for the "perfect pillows" for the "perfect" couch. (When we went couch shopping, the first couch we looked at we both loved, but still we had to keep looking, and what do you know we bought the first couch.) You must understand our couch is pretty dang large, so more than likely there will be more pillow sewing in my future. Sigh.

Anyway, they are simple 18 x 18 pillows with an envelope back. Simple to sew, although the black fabric is the devil, I swear. It caused me so much trouble. Half of it was my fault though. Haha.

So what do you think? Feedback?

45  Re: Let's see your sewing machine!! in Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions by lamamarco on: September 28, 2006 02:36:33 PM

So anyway, in 7th grade I hade to make a costume, so my mother and I decided to sew one, not such a great idea when you don't have a sewing machine. Haha. So we went and bought one at Sears. Yay. So we made the costume, well mostly my mom did, and the machine was promptly put away an forgotten for about 2 years. Meanwhile I found craftster, and had a random urge to sew. So I broke out the sewing machine and sewed a Jordy Bag. My gosh, it was horrible, but I haven't stoppped since.

Okay, I'll stop rambling and get to the point of this thread. I like this machine, it works for me, but then again, I have never sewed with anything else and I'm the kind of person that puts some thread in and starts sewing. Recently though I have been paying more attention to tension and stitch length and width. I haven't really tried the button holer... But maybe I will sonn. It'a a good beginning machine, pretty basic, but I still love it. After seeing all your beautiful machines, I want to save my money and buy a new one Smiley

Secondly, I don't think Tenika is going to post pictures anytime soon, nevermind answer my PM's so here is the only thing I managed to get a picture of.

I recieved from Bigmouth today, before I even got claimed  Sad Anyway, onto the most swesome pouch ever, seriously. It's made of white and gold measuring tapes, as you can probably see and piping at the top with rick rack and a button. (Anything with rick rack = love in my book) On the inside there is velcro to hold is shut Smiley It's so very perfect and lovely in person, I still can't believe I was lucky enough to clain Bigmouth! Thank you Heather!
