1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Wrap from a single skein. on: May 14, 2012 08:55:33 PM
Gotta love those one skein projects
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Drawstring bag on: May 14, 2012 08:52:18 PM
My husband is a musician and uses Crown Royal bags to hold some of his guitar slides and smaller pieces of his gear. They're all starting to wear out and I am very certain that it would be cheaper for me to make him some than for us to buy several bottles of Crown. I have been looking for a simple bag pattern that's large enough. Most of what I'm finding are dice bags, which I could make for him later but not what I need now.

Anyone know of an quick sew pattern?
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Favorite Blogs? on: May 14, 2012 08:48:24 PM
Yep. Yarnharlot.ca. Went to one of her speaking events which was so much fun
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: nickel plate vs wood on: May 14, 2012 08:47:30 PM
I have the wood ones. I love them. They're so easy on my hands for those really long stretches of knitting. They also tend to hold my yarn better with less slipping.
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Reupholstering kitchen table chairs on: July 05, 2011 08:26:47 PM
My husband and I were bless with a really pretty kitchen/dining room table (apartment living) and while the wood itself is really pretty and nice the fabric on the chair seats is terribly dated and not in a cool retro way.  Has anyone reupholstered chair seats and is it terribly hard? We're both more of the DIY mindset to begin with so I'm just trying to get an idea of what we're getting into.
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: what should this be? It hasn't told me yet. on: July 05, 2011 08:16:20 PM
A wrist cuff with super awesome buttons to hold it together
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Hello My knitting friends! NEED HELP! on: July 05, 2011 08:12:37 PM
I don't have any myself, but anytime I need a pattern I go to Ravelry.com. You'll have to sign up but I can almost always find the pattern I need in their giant database
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: What to do with old markers? Weave a jar! (Short tute) on: July 05, 2011 08:04:08 PM
That is awesome.  My mom is a sunday school teacher and is always having to go through her markers to find the dried out ones.  I'll have to tell her to keep them so I can make that.
9  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Rant: Your response when people see you quilting and say stupid things to you. on: July 05, 2011 07:57:34 PM
I come from a family of crafters and my husband is an artist (mostly in abstract painting and some drawing).  My husband also does some woodworking so we're quite the pair.  I've not gotten too many snarky comments, more surprised comments.  Apparently crafting of any kind seems to be regulated to grandmothers and great aunts.  The people at my church were always excited to see me at baby showers though because I always took something knitted or handmade.  It got to the point that some expectant mothers were requesting color combination or items that they had seen at other showers.
10  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Summer Sockathon Sockalong 2011 (June 7-Sept. 22) ~Yarn Prizes!~ on: July 04, 2011 08:49:10 PM
I'm in.  I know I'm a little late joining but I need a project to work on while at the lake next week and this is perfect.  I've been meaning to start a new knitting project to do some stash busting.
