1  Re: Vampire/Vampyre Swap Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by lunascura on: July 06, 2010 02:03:40 PM
I just received my awesome swap package from Rainya!

She sent me a cool purse made out of a hard back cover of Eclipse, a keychain with three vials containing "Holy Water, Liquid Silver, and Vampire Blood," a wooden jewelry box featuring a painted vampire bite graphic, a smaller keychain with vampire themed key words, and my favorite part of all... Sigmund! an amigurumi stuffed penguin...because I collect stuffed penguins just like Anita Blake.

Thank you, lady! I love everything, especially Sigmund!

Here's my loot:

Closeup of the writing on the book cover: (Rainya, you have beautiful handwriting!)

One last shot of the book cover/purse:

I'm gonna go cuddle with Sigmund now!

Thanks again, Rainya!

Oh crap!  I forgot her when I posted because I was so excited I put her straight on the tree before I even took pictures!

She was absolutely perfect! All cute and round Smiley  I loved those jiggly eyes. I've never seen them in blue before Smiley

She has the place of honor on our tree...right smack in the center front where all can see Smiley

Sorry I missed her in the first round of photo action!

Thanks everyone!  I really love crafting for swaps.  It breaks me out of my comfort zone!  But the penguin was forgotten.  Poor pengie!  Grin

Yay! I received from my Swap Angel, Ghilie.

She really hit the nail on the head with everything she sent me!

I was so excited as I opened the box:

Here's the loot before I unwrapped it:

The absolutely most amazing gothish Christmas stocking EVOR:

It's made of the coolest embossed pleather...and it is absolutely HUGE. I put a pencil in for size reference!  I forgot to snap a pic of the lining, which is black and white skully fleece. I adore the polkadot bow!

Inside there were....

SWEETS!  (Chocolate cookies, Dove Chocolates and a Santa's sack full of assorted sweets)

I told ghilie that I didn't like the color brown, and she was dismayed because she had a lot of brown fabric that she wanted to use... I told her that I love brown things like cookies and chocolate.... so that's what she sent! The cookies were delicious and are gone already!

Up next: Magnets!

I LOOOVE them. I'd really love to know what she used behind the glass baubles to make it look so much like dichroic glass.

Ghilie did some really good stalking of my wists and made me this fabulous apron:

Hurray action shots!  You can't see it in the photo, but the purple fabric is all glittery.

She also sent the purple potholder, which came in handy at dinner tonight Smiley

And...the absolute best part of the stocking stuffers...

Those things fit me to a T...I can't even explain how giddy they made me. They make me giggle like a little school girl!

I ran and put them on the tree as soon as the picture had been taken.  My husband just kind of shook his head and asked how he was going to explain those to his mother when she comes to visit...

Hey there. Congrats on all the fabulous stockings and stuffers.

I got flaked on by my partner, but I took pictures of everything I sent to her:

She's a fan of the Mythbusters television show so I made her the following:

A handpainted apron with Adam's favorite thing to say:

Sculpey/Decoupage Christmas tree ornaments:

Magnets with the Mythbusters cast inside a silver painted wooden box:

All inside of a Mythbusters stocking made to look like the funny blueprints from their show:

The front has Jamie riding a rocket powered sleigh. The back is Adam throwing salt on a snowman who is wearing a fig leaf (which is from an obscure quote from their Holiday episode.) I drew everything on using a fabric pen.

My husband gave me lots of ideas for this since he's a huge fan.

I hope my partner likes it, even if she didn't send me anything.

Uberthanks to Ghilie for volunteering to be my swap angel.

Happy Holidays and Happy Swapping!

5  Belly dance costume: bra & bedla in Costumes: Completed Projects by lunascura on: June 24, 2007 08:37:36 PM

I started belly dancing in March and my first performance was yesterday. I covered a padded bra and felt bedla (belt) with purple panne velvet and hand-sewed beaded trim, coin trim, red velvet ribbon, gold gimp trim, and red cording (w/ acrylic jewels) to the velvet.

I think it turned out wonderfully Smiley
