2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Thrifted table makeovers on: March 24, 2008 08:37:30 AM
My husband and I recently (okay, 6 months ago..) moved into an apartment with an awesome basement rec room, and we're finally getting around to making it pretty. Since we're broke/cheap/ecoconscious, we challenged ourselves to thrift/trashpick/refinish everything we put down here. For now, I'll just post my favorite pieces.

We got these end tables from a thrift store for $30 for the pair. They're incredibly well made, but they were a hideous shade of 70's avocado green. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a before, so here's the after of one of them. It's hard to tell, but they're a very, very light springy green with blue spraypainted hardware.

This coffee table was a trashpicked IKEA table, so obviously free. There was nothing wrong with it, it just wasn't fabulous. You can see it before in this picture:

After:

By the way, that couch - which I LOVE - was thrifted for $100.

And my disorganized and unfinished craft area for good measure:
