1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Help fixing worn/frayed piping on: February 28, 2008 02:07:19 PM

I have a really cute Hello Kitty bag I bought a while ago.
I was considering doing a minor recon by replacing the straps, which should not be a problem.
My problem comes with the piping. The piping along the bottom got worn out, exposing the piping innards (a small metal coil). Is there a way to fix the worn piping without having to deconstruct the whole bag?
I've tried searching online for an answer, but all I can find are tutorials for how to attach piping when sewing up a bag from scratch. Not what I need, unfortunately.

Any help will be appreciated it. Please, please, and thank you Smiley
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitted Brain Bag on: November 02, 2007 09:03:53 PM
I just thought this design by Jun Takashi was very cool: A knit brain bag

I wonder how feasible is it to try to make one of my own :d

Would've been a neat trick-or-treat bag!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / New Magknits: July 2007 on: July 01, 2007 09:20:35 AM
Hello!  The new Magknits for July 2007 is now up.

Although there are only five patterns, I gotta say I really like Stargazer and Jellyfish as they seem to be simple, yet beautiful pieces Smiley

What do you think?
4  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Is it right to sell...? on: March 24, 2007 06:19:20 PM
If I was inspired by items I saw online and in the real world, came up with my own pattern for them (even if patterns were available), and then decided to sell the end product, would that be right?

Almost all the patterns I've seen say that items made from them are not to be sold for profit.  However, what if I did NOT use the pattern, but figured out how to make the item.  Would it be okay/legal to sell it then?

I am just wondering, in case I want to pursue this in the future...

Thank you for any thoughts on this!
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / V Cat's Eye Top (pattern by skwirel) on: March 02, 2007 09:52:17 PM
Hi!  This is my first project post here on Craftster.  I thought it was important to post a finished project of mine, which was only possible because of Craftster.  Now I really feel like part of the community Smiley

I knitted this top based on skwirel's V Cat's Eye pattern (found here: http://pearlknitpurl.blogspot.com/2006/08/v-cats-eye-pattern.html )  Thank you, skwirel!

The yarn is acrylic Bernat Berella 4 in a burgundy colour.  I have tons of it I have to use up!

I was too lazy to gauge, so I had to improvise in some places (and the reason why I decided to go sleeveless..hehe).

Anyway, I really like how it turned out, and I think it would look really cute longer as a dress.

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / MagKnits: March 2007 is up! on: March 01, 2007 08:34:16 PM
Just a few patterns this time around, but they seem to be of the quick-to-knit variety.

The bracelet seems to  have a nice effect with the beading.
