1  Re: knitted oval... thing in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by iridescent on: November 05, 2007 10:00:05 PM
I've followed the curly purly pattern to make bigger eggs. I casted on a multiple of the original 9 stitches and adjusted the pattern to accommodate the extra stitches.* I believe the smaller egg was made with 27 stitches and the larger one 36.  The smaller one is about 15cm tall.

* What I mean is, if I casted on 27 stitches, that's 9 x 3, so if the pattern told me to knit 2 rows, I would knit 2 x 3 rows, that is 6 rows. But I believe I followed the instructions for the rows as given, so if it said "knit 1, increase 2, knit to end" that's what I did.

Also, make sure to stuff the egg well to give it a good shape. I was stingy with the stuffing and had a slightly pointy and easily deformed egg.

2  Re: Anthropologie-inspired capelet + Tutorial! in Knitting: Completed Projects by iridescent on: July 03, 2007 09:06:23 PM
I finally got some pictures of my modified capelets!

The first one is made with a DK weight yarn, Patons' Brilliant.  I made the capelet longer overall.  The sleeves are at a sort of awkward length because I ran out of yarn. hehe.

This second one is made from black acrylic yarn, worsted weight.  I added long ties to make a sort of wrap mini cardi.  The ties are just done in 1x1 ribbing, picked up from the bottom of each side.

Thanks for sharing this versatile and easy pattern!

3  V Cat's Eye Top (pattern by skwirel) in Knitting: Completed Projects by iridescent on: March 02, 2007 09:52:17 PM
Hi!  This is my first project post here on Craftster.  I thought it was important to post a finished project of mine, which was only possible because of Craftster.  Now I really feel like part of the community Smiley

I knitted this top based on skwirel's V Cat's Eye pattern (found here: http://pearlknitpurl.blogspot.com/2006/08/v-cats-eye-pattern.html )  Thank you, skwirel!

The yarn is acrylic Bernat Berella 4 in a burgundy colour.  I have tons of it I have to use up!

I was too lazy to gauge, so I had to improvise in some places (and the reason why I decided to go sleeveless..hehe).

Anyway, I really like how it turned out, and I think it would look really cute longer as a dress.
