I have to agree about the Stitch N Bitch books by Debbie Stoller.  I received the first one as a gift one year and I learned to cast on, knit, purl, and cast off in one afternoon.  It was great.
17  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: How much do you knit? on: January 10, 2007 11:55:21 AM
I also like to knit whenever i can, what i would do without it i dont know it helps with my depression.
I have to agree with blu...
I knit everywhere, in class (psych prof said that if I was going to knit in class, I had to give him the finished product.  He got a bunch of washcloths), waiting for my son to get out of school, while waiting in lines, at the doctor's office, while watching t.v., sitting in the sun while my son plays hackey-sack in the yard, while waiting for prescriptions to be filled, since they are never ready on time. At the movies, in the car, at my MIL's house, knitting with my son, While my hubby plays his x-box 360, the list goes on and on and on.  The only problem I see with it is there is just not enough time to knit.....

I think I may have to purchase it for the red cabeled dress in the preview...knit with a few changes.  I will have to check out the issue when I get to the store.  Thanks for the heads up about it being in the stores.
19  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: going on a mini knitting SHOPPING SPREE! on: January 10, 2007 11:36:29 AM
Hey, before you go shopping, go to the store's websites and see if there are any coupons you can print.  Michaels and   Joanns often have 50% off coupons for yarns and knitting needles that are just wonderful.  Have fun shopping.

Does the pattern have any mention about it having a "negative ease"?  I can't locate my copy of that magazine right now.  I have noticed that that particular magazine isn't really geared towards "girls of figure", but I still love the patterns Wink
