11  Re: Vintagy ornaments (tut added on the page 4) in Winter Holidays by caroline_dw on: December 02, 2007 11:19:32 AM
Hi everybody, thought I show you guys the christmas balls I made after reading this great tut. The patterned fabric I salvaged from my grandmothers attic. For the red fabric I cut up one of my boyfriends t-shirts. To my own defence, it was an old one and he hasn't noticed...yet  Smiley
Two down, still two to go!

12  Monofloot Robot Doll in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by caroline_dw on: November 06, 2007 01:25:39 PM
My boyfriend is in this band called monofloot. They make, well, noise  Smiley . Not really my thing but with their first gig coming up I wanted to show I'm being supportive.
So I decided to make one based on the illustrations on their site into a doll ( done by the boyfriend by the way). I wanted to make a crocheted one at first but seing all the lovely felt toys on here, I decided to give felt a go.

So tadaa, the first official Monofloot:

He"s not quite perfect, I had some problems with the stuffing, but all the band members were really enthusiastic!

13  Help! Singer behaving badly! in Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions by caroline_dw on: August 25, 2007 12:04:12 PM
So, I'm new to sewing. I'm learning myself so I just know the basics, and by that I mean the basic basics.

So I was pretty confused when my brand new singer decided he didn't wanna play any more. Here's what happened: I was happily sewing along when I ran out of thread on the bobbin. I rewinded it and then all of the sudden, I got these loops on the bottom of my sewing. I knew as much to think that it might be the tension which was set to auto. So I added tension, same thing. I reduced the tension and, yes you guessed, it same thing. I'm a bit at loss, I tried rewinding a new bobbin but I still got the same problem. I have a Singer Inspiration 4112, and with this model there's no way you can put the bobbin in wrong....

Can somebody please help me, this is so frustrating   Sad

I added some pictures, don't know if they'll help...
