11  Re: Jar of Whimsies 5 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by becs88 on: May 20, 2009 12:20:00 PM
So here's my fantastic package from SewEnthusiastic!

(sorry the pics are a bit fuzzy i dropped my camera and it landed on the lens part and is now totally jammed (EEK!) and so i had to resort to the stupid camera phone!)

The 'jar'! I love this idea - i said didnt want a 'jar' as such!

everything together

ribbons! the thin ones will be perfect for my ceramic pendants!

stickers pompoms and some lovely embellishments for cards/scrapbooking

beautiful coloured glass beads, dimantes and buttons & charms

crochet beads, poker chips, film canisters and a mix of lovely charms. ...and...TEAPOTS i have a bit of a tea obsession and have been loking for teapots for ages (thank you so much!)

The hand crafted items - tree of life pendant, kilt pin with cute pink charms and 3 gorgeous resin pendants.

(and the pendant i've been wearing since it arrived - its so cute!)

Thanks again for a great swap!!!!! xx

12  old shirt + vest = awesome tee! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by becs88 on: February 15, 2009 02:07:30 PM
i took an old green t shirt and a pink vest with a skull pattern (i think green & pink look great together!). The t shirt had a hole on the chest and the vest was too small so a pair of scissors, some beads, lace and a lot of sewing later....

Hey Presto!!

(next time i'll try to remember to take a before pic!)

13  Picasso does ceramics in Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects by becs88 on: February 15, 2009 01:44:31 PM
ok, maybe not...

this was for college, our task was to create a piece inspired by a famous artist. it was shockingly simple once i gained control of the extruder! I'm not 100% happy with all the colours. I get frustrated with the glazes & trying to work out  what colour they will come out!

16  Re: Personal/Private Swap Gallery July 2008 in The Swap Gallery by becs88 on: July 24, 2008 12:04:25 PM
CarnabyStreet and I had a BLAST in the pick and choose theme swap last month and we both loved our packages so much that we decided on doing a great big personal swap. So, without further ado, here's my awesome loot from Carnaby Street!

everything together

pin-up pouch, guitar earrings, 3 necklaces! I love them all but the sandcastle one is my fave, its based on some hair slides from my wists! and a boney felt needle book (inside was such a treat- check out the awesome heart pins - i need more Poppy, where are they from?!)

cute anchor wristlet and twisted knitted necklace. Is the wristlet the same fabric as the dress you made?

knitted hello kitty stuffie and scarf - you cant see the detail in the pic but she has sewn little vapour trails from the aeroplane - soo cute!

one of my many obsessions is alice in wonderland - she sent me this awesome glass filled with whimsies!!!....

all the wimsies and a dimante trinket box!!

a guitar tote bag - it even has studs for knobs!

wonder woman inspired pouch! I love this!!!!

and a little extra was this super cute shopping bag - no more plastic bags for me!!

Thank you soo much Poppy, cant wait for round 3  Grin haha

Here's my loot from Al!!

My piratey shadow box. The note says i'll be gettin ye back for that. your friend redbeard!! haha

A piratey treasure chest, polka dot and sand castle hair accessories from my wist and a 6 legged octopus (who lost 2 legs in an encounter with a pirate ship!)

LOADS of candy, a grow your own pirate and foamy pirate set.

A crocodile zippered pouch....wait, he's stealing my reeses pieces!

Al's home made foot scrub - smells of lemons. hmmmm!

Thanks so much Al!!! It was great swapping with you!!

BF stole the reeses pieces from the crocodile!! haha

And sadly some postal abuse! The box got pretty damaged.  Cry Any ideas how best to fix it? I was thinking of sticking some card over the whole front and painting it to match. you cant see the damage on the inside. Maybe i'll cover it in fancy pirate themed paper!  Grin

19  Meet fish - my first stuffie! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by becs88 on: June 14, 2008 04:38:12 AM
I made him from a t-shirt which i dyed orange! so he's really soft and squishy! He now lives across the pond in the USA! I made him for the sea swap & hope he is enjoying life with Al!!

I had trouble getting the detail on the fins right - my sewing machine was hating it and kept stopping! any suggestions? I know i could do by hand but i'm so impatient. that would be a last resort! haha

I hope you like him!!  Grin
