He's a cutie!  Thanks for sharing the pattern!  I'm still at that beginner stage where I have to use a pattern on everything!

Neat!  I can see my dad making these for his garden...he's into the "clever" lawn art.

These are fantastically awesome!

Thank your for the tutorial and pattern--my niece was supposed to get two of these (based off your post) for Christmas.  After my fiance saw how well they turned out, he claimed one for himself!

This was my first real adventure into the world of felt sewing, and despite a few frustrations, not too difficult!
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Marshmallow Launcher on: January 24, 2007 03:10:54 PM
I love Marshmallow Launchers!  My friend and I used to play with one; unfortunately, our marshmallows kept getting stuck in the tubing.

I love the idea of playing games with it--we just used to randomly shoot people (our friends, not strangers--don't worry!).  Still, much more socially acceptable to play distance games, if I do say so myself.

I love felt--I, too, am on a felt kick.  I play with fabric, but I love the sturdiness that comes with felt.

Great food!

Nice--did you tuck the flowers into the folds, or use something else to hold them down?
8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: what happened to my christmas present?! on: January 24, 2007 01:16:52 PM
I also got a sewing machine for Christmas--actually, I got three.  I couldn't get the first two to work, as I was having the same bobbin/thread wadded up on the bottom issue as others have mentioned.  After calling my grandmother, I realized that my "broken" machine was mostly out of user error--playing around with the top bobbin tension fixed the problem with the first two and now the one I decided to keep (my second "simple" Singer) works like a charm.

Good luck with your Christmas gift!

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Jilted Maid of Honor Requests Your Help! on: January 17, 2007 02:46:00 PM
I'm glad that I'm not the only one in this boat.  I'm not a jilted maid of honor, just a frazzled one!

I'm hosting a wedding shower next Sunday for my best friend, and am expecting about 10-15 people.  Since I have more spare time than spare money, I'm making little felt wedding cakes for my guests based on this pattern:

I have a few larger gifts to use for the games, but I'll probably borrow the chocolate-in-tulle idea for other small items!

For decorations, I hope to make a larger, 3-tiered version of the felt cake (and probably give that to the bride), and add some balloons around the house.

Great suggestions from everyone, thank you--they helped me out, also!
