11  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: My Diamond and Smocked Baby Blanket on: August 09, 2007 09:40:14 AM
Sorry for the lack of yarn details.  I knit this using Cascade 220 in Celery on size 8 needles.  I ended up using just under 5 skeins.

I am finished finished finished !!!  I posted in the Completed Projects section here https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=188776.0

I ended up wet blocking the blanket (i was using wool) and it really helped out.  The diamonds are way more diamondy now and the area between the smocking stays roundish.  I really love how it turned out - unfortunately my camera skills are kinda sucking today (bad light and laziness) but you can get the idea:

Thanks to Nashira for finding such an awesome pattern and to the the knitters at the Diamond and Smocked KAL

It was very fun to knit and I highly recommend it Smiley

This one is for Nashira - go check out her original (hilarious) post!

That is beautiful!  I never noticed it in the mag - now I will have to go back and check it out.  I find that my favourite thing about craftster is seeing projects I didn't like or never noticed made beautiful by fellow knitters.  Sometimes it is just a colour change or a simple mod that makes all the difference.

beautifully done and a lovely colour too.  I was looking at the pattern and considering it for a christmas gift.  Thanks for finding the errors for us slow pokes.

beautiful.  Really great color choice, which is something I find difficult when using Noro.  The whole thing really complements you.

If you have the Stitch and Bitch book, it has an illusion scarf in it that you could use as an example

Jillie - You can see how someone used the Pomatomus pattern to make fingerless gloves here: http://craftoholic.blogspot.com/2006/03/mermaid-gloves.html

So freakin' beautiful.
