1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Oil Painted Heels on: October 13, 2008 08:24:04 PM
A friend of mine found this shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5361137 and was wondering how to seal the heels after they've been painted with oils. Any suggestions? Sorry if this is the wrong place for this.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / New Dress and Corset on: October 10, 2008 11:12:16 AM
I kind of hate wearing dresses. But I love making them.

The zipper is a bit funky and off center, but for my first zipper, I don't really care.

As for the corset, I needed a white underbust for my halloween costume and decided to make one.

It isn't boned, just reinforced with two layers of interfacing. And those stripes on it are just tiny folds that I edgestitched.
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Jewelry Corner on: July 27, 2008 12:33:17 AM
I saw this thread yesterday (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=259130.0), and decided that I just had to try it. But I got just a little bit carried away. The fishy box is packaging styrofoam wrapped in flannel and is for post earrings, The floating shelf is just scrap wood propped up on the wall with clear pushpins.

Closeups, well, closer-ups:

This is the only corner in my apartment that is neat at the moment, and I felt like sharing.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Halter Vest of Sorts on: July 27, 2008 12:19:13 AM
So, I was trying to make a shirt, kind of winging it, but forgot to account for boobs. After scrapping the front and cutting out two fronts from a completely new fabric, I ended up with this:

I'm not sure where/if I'll ever wear this out in the open, but it was fun to make. Please excuse the soccer shorts and myspace-style photography.
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Drawstring Bag on: December 19, 2007 04:09:14 PM
So I was really bored this morning/last night and had to make this. Unseen powers compelled me. Anyway, here it is. And it's on my flickr because that is the easiest way for me.

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Paisly Curtains on: April 25, 2007 01:05:33 PM
I think that I've been lurking around this forum for about a year now, but have just now gotten around to making an account...
Anyways, I was going to make curatins out of this silk fabric:
And I was wondering how necessary it is for me to use a lining. Will the sun fade the fabric?
