1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / More Spooky Shadow Boxes on: September 23, 2017 07:47:25 AM
After making a fun little house shadow box for the vintage Halloween swap, I decided I wanted one for myself.

The portrait is a lenticular sticker.  Also I made some more coffins because they're fun.

Thanks for looking!

3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Yeah, I totally needed a new hobby (Perler Beads) on: September 18, 2017 08:23:21 AM
Thanks everyone!  I'm having a lot of fun, except for a little mishap I had with a big project I'm working on.
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Perler Bead Oops on: September 18, 2017 07:37:24 AM
I thought it would be fun to try a big perler project.  I chose Meridia, Daedric Prince of Life.  I attempted to fuse the not-yet-finished design so I could remove the boards and use them for the remainder of the project.  Sadly, even though I was working on a flat surface, the boards were uneven and fusing didn't really work.  This is what I had before the mishap:

I lost most of her face and the whole right side.  Yeah.  As discouraged as I am, I'm seeing this darn thing through!  I'm going to try the "tape method" which seems like it could also end in disaster because I'm a huge klutz.  Also I'm still having doubts about the mouth.  Not sure which one looks better.
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: Crafty But Stupid: YOUR CRAFT RELATED INJURIES HERE! on: September 18, 2017 07:29:38 AM
On August 5 I sliced off a huge chunk of my finger with a rotary cutter.  I'm talking an inch long and almost down to the bone.  I had to get 11 stitches.  It's finally to the point where it doesn't hurt unless I really smash it, but I still have a dent in the side of my finger and I have no feeling.  It took a while before I was ready to sew again, and I got a rotary/ruler in-one because it's almost impossible to cut myself with it.

Learn from my mistakes- get a glove!

I LOVE those skeleton portraits.

I don't have enough hobbies already so I picked up Perler beads.  Here's what I've made so far.

My very favorite, a zombie ballroom dancer.  My husband thinks it's a mermaid.  What do you guys think?

Cats

Peppa and Halloween

Disney magnets

8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Another Craft My Character Swap? on: September 15, 2017 03:00:07 PM
I made a poppet of my partner's character for the last swap.  There's a lot of possibilities with this one.

This cross stitch is super cool on its own but that frame really makes it pop.

Those are super detailed.  Also hilarious.
