1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Felt Succulents on: August 12, 2019 07:54:30 PM
Thank you, everyone!  My dad liked it and his wife-like figure absolutely loved it.  He's doing great, just sore abs and still kind of groggy.
2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Paper Succulents on: August 12, 2019 07:51:56 PM
I've been having too much fun making paper succulents and flowers with my Cricut.  Here's some I did over the weekend.

This paper is shimmery and has metallic colored pencil accents.  For size reference this is a 4" embroidery hoop.

My coworker loved this and bought it from me.  It's in a 4x6 frame.

These are seriously fun to make.  Thanks for looking!

Thanks!

I have the Cricut Explore Air 2.  I haven't given it to him yet, we're going to see him tomorrow.  I like the term "permanent botanicals" myself.  Cheesy

I got a Cricut last week and I love the darned thing.  Also you can cut felt with it!  My dad had to have emergency gall bladder surgery yesterday (but he's doing fine) and I wanted to make him something.  So I thought I'd try these succulents I saw on Pinterest.  I found a nice plant pot at Hobby Lobby and glued in some river rocks to make it look fancy.

Thanks everyone!

Wonderful stuff!  I didn't know you could make flowers like that with one of those devices--I take it you still have to roll/fold up the petals into the 3-dimensional shape?
You use the Cricut to cut the shape but you still have to hand roll it.

Wow! Awesome stuff!  I'm totally not gonna buy one, nope, not gonna do it Smiley
Do it. Doooooo itttttt.

I bought a Cricut because my husband said that's how all those people on the internet make their car decals and I was like "I want to make decals."  I thought the Cricut was still some lame die-cut thing like it was when it first came out and I didn't even think I wanted one.  I got it home and proceeded to make a card using the welcome tutorial.  Then I made some cut-outs for some ATCs.  Then I made some decals and even some iron-on things for my plain t-shirts.  But I had no idea that it could do pop-up cards and 3D paper flowers until I started poking around on Cricut Access and Pinterest.

Anyway, I'm sure you don't want to be bored with my life story and would like to see some pictures now.

I made this tonight- I think it turned out pretty rad.  The flower is 3D.

I also made these paper succulents.  I don't have a lot of scrapbook paper or cardstock right now so I just grabbed something green.

A sweet Kraken card that my co-worker is totally getting. I also made the nautical compass envelope you can kind of see.

And some roses.

So overall I'd say the Cricut is a good purchase and something I'll use a lot.  Thanks for looking!
