My roommate admiring the cupcakes at the bar!

2  Rusted Root! in Knitting: Completed Projects by Caboosey on: June 16, 2008 08:06:30 AM
This is the Rusted Root sweater from Zephyr Style, and it is my favorite thing that I've ever knit.

The color isn't perfect in that picture - in real life, it is a little more muted.  I love this sweater, it is very flattering and the directions are great and NO SEAMS!!!

I am already working on another one, with a modified neckline and no lace inset...

3  Sunflower Cupcakes! in Dessert by Caboosey on: June 16, 2008 08:00:56 AM
Some sunflower cupcakes from the book "Hello, Cupcake!" for my roomie's birthday.  I used Funfetti cake mix for the cupcakes.  Decorating was pretty quick and easy - and I think they turned out adorable!  The frosting was maybe a little softer than desired, since it was a HOT day when I was decorating - but oh well.

My bag of M&Ms had only a few red ones, so I used the yellow ones to make bees!  Smiley

4  Teeny Mittens! in Knitting: Completed Projects by Caboosey on: March 22, 2008 09:01:47 AM
I don't know what it is, but lately all I want to knit are mittens.  Teeny tiny mittens.  I can finish one mitten in a few hours, they're a good way to use up stash yarn, and I'll give them away to charity once I'm all done!

These are made from Lorna's Laces, which is lovely, soft, and superwash - unfortunately, I can't figure out how to knit with the rainbow colorway without it looking muddy.  I like mixing it with the white to break it up a bit.

These are from Lion Brand Wool...  Not crazy about the colors, the yarn was a gift - someone will like them!  I also figured out how to make the top of the mitten less pointy (reading the directions correctly helps!)

The pattern is from Ann Budd's Handy Book of Patterns, which is an amazing book.

5  Re: Bottlecap Magnets - eat your veggies! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Caboosey on: February 06, 2008 06:17:01 PM
Very beautiful! Love the scale too. Are there more in the works?

I have worked in this scale before - there are ladybug magnets in my kitchen made in bottlecaps...

One ladybug ended up on the sugarbowl!

And a random Christmas magnet...

6  Bottlecap Magnets - eat your veggies! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by Caboosey on: January 13, 2008 09:53:44 AM
I made this set of magnets for my friend Sonia's birthday - she's a vegetarian, and we have fun exploring veggie restaurants together.  I am really happy with how they turned out - I love working in the small scope of the bottlecap, and with a fairly limited color scheme.

I'm considering adding teeny googly eyes, but I don't know if they would fit on all the veggies, and they're pretty cute as they are!

7  Super-bright kitchen desk! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Caboosey on: January 13, 2008 09:50:50 AM
We got this old, beat-up student desk from my roommate's aunt and uncle when we moved into our new apartment.  We use it in our kitchen for storage and extra counter space, but it was looking a little rough, even with the new knobs we put on it.  Also, it was a little bland in our all-white kitchen - we love color!

We decided to paint it this BRIGHT yellow and green, and we totally love it now!

What do you think?
