11  Re: Tiny Fairy Tale House Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by DanniQuee on: December 14, 2010 12:17:33 PM
I received the most wonderful tiny cottage from Bham Baby! It has all sorts of natural elements, which I love, and looks like the sort of place the Baba Yaga may go to hide out when she's on vacation from her chicken foot hut. Grin

This is the back of the cottage. You can see all the bits of pine cone, bark, pebbles, shells and moss she used on the house:

Thank you so much for such a marvelous tiny house, Bham Baby! Cheesy

12  Winter Watercolors in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by DanniQuee on: December 03, 2010 03:09:26 PM
It's been quite a long while since I've posted anything at all on this board! Rather than exhaust you with all the work I've been doing, I'll just share my most recent winter inspired work! Smiley All three of these are watercolor.

First up are two 5x7 pieces.

I trust everyone knows who this Jolly old soul is?  Wink

A wee fairy home during the winter months.

This last one is just a hair shy of 8.5x11.

This is Yvonne, the Faun. Being a very particular creature, she wasn't just contented to be painted as she was, but insisted I dress her up for the holidays. Wink

Thanks for looking!

I missed out on pumpkin smiley day, boo! Thanks for the compliments on little Blix! It was hard to send him away, I love goblins so darn much. Wink My DH does all sorts of carvings, typically from coconut shell, antler, bone and occasionally stones. I've watched him work and tried it myself, but I don't have a steady enough hand. He gets them so shiny by sanding them with very very fine sandpaper and and them buffing with an oil and soft cloth. Smiley

I received my package from ntrebleagain over the weekend, but couldn't pick it up at the post office until today. For some reason, despite the post office being closed on Saturday and Sunday, they managed to slip the pick up notice in my box Saturday with a pick up date of today written on it. *sigh* Anyway...here's the glitter...

DanniQuee is an awesome partner and a fabulous artist...and a wonderful human being...and I love this book!
Grin Aw, thank you! You're pretty awesome yourself. Wink

Here are my much delayed photos of the lovely book Jiasaykea sent to me. I've been having some serious issues with my eye and have been at the mercy of my DH for my photo taking needs.  Undecided Better late than never though!

Thank you so much for the great story book! Smiley

I received two amazing chunky houses from Atsuko and Coocoosnest. The space in front of my china hutch is filling up nicely!

Here are the fronts:

the fortune on Atsuko's reads: 'You have a lively family'
The text on coocoosnest's spooky chunky house reads:
Now I lay me down to sleep but on Halloween I'll be back to creep.

And the backs!

Thank you both so much!

Prepare for photo overload! Karenlouisem totally spoiled me. A few small extras my foot... now I feel a bit like a heel for sticking with just 2 items.  Roll Eyes

Here is what she made me. Prepare to wist, you guys!

A bottle of witch hazel, complete with grumpy old witch, moss, skeleton, and a tiny clay skull and bones and kitty with a pumpkin.

I could not for the life of me get a good shot of the little guys inside, due to the glare of the bottle.

A fabulously chunky tiered necklace!

A sweet hanging witch who will fly above my witch collection once the gals are set up for the season:

A close up of her wonderful face:

This amazing mixed media haunted house! It's beyond amazing!

Last but certainly not least, this gorgeous bunting made from some of my absolute favorite fabric of all time! I think I may leave this up all year long... Christmas lights and trick-or-treaters look good together, right? Wink

Thank you so much for being an amazing partner Karen! This has been a wonderful swap. Cheesy

While my package to Racky seems to be taking it's dear sweet time getting to her OR coming back to me, I've received a fabulous package from her! I'm excited to get this gallery started!

All the contents of the envelope splayed out along with the wee tag she included with a note on the back:

And some of my favorite bits (I love everything, but there are enough pictures as it is! Cheesy)
Vintage photos:

Language papers:

A collection of creepy clowns which will absolutely make it into my sketchbook, as I have a serious clown phobia and my theme IS nightmare.

Creepy doll heads:

Fabulous stamped pages:

And finally, some of the tiny items in the bag that was in the first photo:

Thank you so much for all the lovely paper bits Racky, I just know I'll use it all for something. Cheesy

I hope my package makes its way to you while I'm away on vacation, it would be great to return to good news. Smiley And, I think it's sort of funny that a few of our items are very similar. Cheesy

20  Re: Fungus Among Us! Mushroom Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by DanniQuee on: August 09, 2010 11:30:49 AM
I received my amazing package from Poosel this weekend and you all are in for a very picture heavy post and a lot of wisting! Get your fingers on the wist button and prepare to fight out who will be her partner in future swaps! Cheesy

First out of the giant box was a giant wreath! It's amazing! It's covered in different types of moss, leaves, twigs, sculpted mushrooms, tiny birds and even has teeny, tiny lights throughout it!

Next up was a coin purse, hand painted with pretty mushrooms!

But wait.. there's something inside...

I have no idea how she sculpted such itty bitty mushrooms, nor how she arranged everything so beautifully in these teeny jars (the biggest is maybe 1.5" tall!) but they're amazingly done.

As if that wasn't enough there was more loot buried underneath the pouch. Including some toys for my kitties and a gorgeous sculpted hair clip! If I didn't know they were clay I would have thought these were real mushrooms...

and finally at the very bottom of the box was an unassuming rectangle wrapped in paper towels. But it is easily my favorite thing in the entire package. I feel so honored to have had something so beautiful and detailed done just for me. My camera and the crap lighting in my apartment definitely do not do this painting justice.

Some details...

Thank you so much for such a wonderful swap, Poosel! I hope you like your package half as much as I love mine! Cheesy
