1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Bird Feeder/Bath or Plant Stand on: November 03, 2010 04:56:22 PM
I saw these on another site and couldn't resist making a few.  They are made from vases stacked and glued with GE II Silicone caulking.   I use microwave plates on the bottom to stabilize it and whatever you like on the top.  I love watching the birds sit in the dish and feast on the birdseed.
2  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Ideas for leather from damaged jacket on: September 02, 2010 09:39:46 AM

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Ideas for making a Pinata on: August 02, 2010 04:56:48 PM
Every year I make a pinata for our block party and have always used a balloon.  Is there anyone out there that has instructions for making pinata other than using a round balloon.   ???I'm tired of using a balloon and would love to make something else.
4  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Help with pricing a sewing project on: November 16, 2009 06:35:08 PM
I am sewing replacement cushion covers for a rather large couch including all the piping and zippers.  There are 16 cushions, some rather large.  Any professional sewers out there that do this type of sewing would appreciate it if you could help me with an idea of what to charge for this job. Huh
Thanks,
Rose

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / My Country Kitchen Facelift on: January 25, 2009 07:58:40 PM
I finally gave my kitchen a complete facelift.  Painted the cabinets off white and replaced all the hardware. I left one of the doors off a cabinet and added red & white check fabric to the back.   The old ladder hanging over my island holds my utensils & strainers that I use daily.  I have a wall of old utensils that I have collected and sometimes I even use them.  The window shelf has my house collection (I am a realtor!).  I really love the way it turned out...it makes me happy when I cook Grin

7  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Adjusting a Serger on: July 16, 2008 05:34:56 PM
I have an Babyloc Imagine serger that needs some tension adjusting.  I hate taking it into a service place because they always want to charge $100 to clean & adjust it.  Shocked
8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Help with Grocery Bag on: July 15, 2008 07:25:49 PM
I hate plastic bags so I made my own cotton tote bags for my groceries.  I love them so much I made some for my sister for her birthday and would like to put something cute on them.  Any suggestions. Huh  I do not have an embroidery machine so I have to use another technique.
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Help with Sewing chair covers on: June 09, 2008 05:56:36 PM
Has anyone made a slipcover to go over a wooden chair.  I've seen many in magazines and would love to make one for the chair to my makeup table.  I would like the skirt to go to the floor and also have long ties to tie a big bow in the back (cottage chick look).  Perhaps someone has used a pattern they could suggest.
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Help with Fusible Interfacing on: May 09, 2008 07:54:39 AM
I just finished sewing a bolero jacket that I will be wearing with an evening dress.  The pattern called for fusible interfacing to be added to the front & back sections of the jacket. The jacket is also lined.    I used Pellon stuff for collars & cuffs and do not like how stiff it turned out Undecided.  Does anyone know how to remove the fusible interfacing Huh.
