Hilarious and well done! The frame goes great with it.
3 CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: PROJECT RUNWAY: Season Six - Episode TWO - Official Craftster Discussion Thread on: September 02, 2009 10:45:59 AM
I agree with most everyone that Shirin's design was gorgeous and practical. That coat wasn't even necessary for her to make to win. It's almost like she's showing off!

Several of the designers, while their looks were not terrible, failed to take into consideration how the hem fell.

That bothered me too. Dresses ride up, and they're going to ride up even more if you have a growing body. Not to mention when you sit down, the back is going to go way up. Some dresses were way too short, especially in the back.

There doesn't seem to be a consistency in the judging from season to season. Usually vision is rewarded rather than making nice clothes that people will buy. Christian, Jeffrey, etc. - not many people would want to wear their stuff. Yet, like in this episode, they kept someone for having something that could be more wearable if executed well. Never mind that there was nothing unique about it, and it was a second showing of awful sewing. (I thought Malvin's idea was too literal and poorly executed, but he at least attempted to try something different. That usually is worth more on PR than something boring and poorly executed.) They also complain to designers about something, like being tired of a certain look, and when they change it they complain about it. Like Uli in the all-stars challenge. They complained before about her prints, and when she took them away they complained about it! It would be hard to be a contestant, because you'd never really know what they were looking for.

Maybe with new producers and a new channel, the judges are getting more control?

Ahh, I love it! I have a tiki bathroom too. Pictures here. I can't paint the walls, I'm jealous! I bought a Hawaiian record to hang up too, but haven't done it yet. I love your collection! The skirt under my sink I had to take down - my cat kept eating it and puking it up. :-( So if you have a cat, you're on notice!
7 OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Minnesota "in a box" on: December 02, 2006 07:16:52 PM
Like someone said, hotdish -that's "the food of our people". The fixin's to make green bean casserole would be good!

I've never heard of spring grove soda, but I do know that nobody here calls it soda - it's "pop". I lived away from MN for awhile so I still say soda, and people correct me to say it's "pop".

Something referencing Paul Bunyon, Walleye, or mosquitos would work. Maybe add a dvd of "Fargo".
