21  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / Re: Scrapbooking magazines? on: December 06, 2008 05:57:24 AM
I'm not a fan of Creating Keepsakes (I think it's mostly ads)  I do agree w/ Scrapbooks etc...  I've recently discovered Somerset Studio and I LOVE it, though it is pricey, but more collage than scrapbook.
22  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: Diabetic Supply Cases ? on: November 25, 2008 01:19:28 PM
My BIL has a bunch of these, all black.  It would be cool to make one in a fun fabric.  On the inside one side holds the meter, there's an elastic that holds the container of test strips and another elastic in the fold part that holds the poker-thingy.  The opposite side of the inside of the case is mesh (in all the one's I've seen) and closes with a zipper or velcro.  It holds the syringes and insulin bottle.  The whole thing closes with a zipper. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Great job!  I stencilled a 'frank' shirt for my very picky son for Christmas last year and to my surprise he LOVED it and is still wearing it.

If I'm not mistaken, I know Target had a black Christmas tree last year and they decorated in white and silver ornaments.  It was pretty cool.  I've seen some 'crafster member created' Jack Skellington ornaments somewhere on this site...crosses are nice, too.

The fear of rejection from non-crafty family members prevents me from making ALOT of gifts.  I did make my new niece a baby blanket last year that was returned within a month because there was a flaw in the fabric... do I look like I weave the fabric?Huh?

I do have a friend, however, who was VERY upset that 20 people didn't call her to comment on her handmade Christmas cards...that, I think, is a little extreme.

Or...you can just say you misunderstood an go with Casino like the movie. It was pretty bloody as I recall.

After reading the first 5 pages of this I felt the need to chime in.  I have 3 daughters 15, 13, and 11.  I have FULL say in what they wear.  As a creative person I won't squash their individuality or expression or whatever, but they all know that they are not allowed out of my house with too-short skirts (put some shorts under that) or tops that are too low.
We were in Halloween USA when we came upon "The Wall of Skank" and I guess I said it too loud because all of the 14-17 y/o girls purchasing these costumes all turned around and looked at me.  I'm not against store bought costumes but why do the girls feel the need to be slutty for Halloween? And why are their parents permitting it?  You can be an awesome vampiress/pirate/cat/superhero without showing the goods!   The slutty costumes can be saved for role playing in the bedroom. lol

Hurry! Take that border down!  Seriously a gallon of paint will do wonders for that room.  If you paint some sort of beige and and maybe shades of cream/brown towels, shower curtain, etc... then the blue will just be an accent color.
