1  Re: Dishalicious Dishcloth/Washcloth Swap Round 3 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by mrs.veghead on: July 12, 2007 06:16:11 AM
I received a wonderful package from my partner, KnitsyBitsy. She made two beautiful dishcloths for me:

AND as an extra she did some "blog snooping" and read that I just had a baby.  She knitted Sophia this gorgeous bib.

Here are some action shots.
Soph loves it

And so do I.

Thank you so much KitsyBitsy!

I have sort of been a slacker.  I received my swap package from Sheva a few days ago (uh...by a few days ago I mean: last week...heh..heh..).

It is absolutely amazing!  I hit the swap jackpot during this swap.  Here are the photos

*The whole package*

Stroller blanket and matching burp cloth

Super adorable felt slippers

Baby Jewelry

I received my package last week (sorry for the delay in posting...pregnancy has a way of killing your free time as well as your memory!)

Starlisa was my wonderfully crafty partner.  She crafted several lovely gifts for me as well as some to send to my hubby in Afghanistan...and man oh man is she quick!  She sent early!

Thank you so much starlisa!!

This is the whole package.  A pillow case with space for my and the baby's picture, wool socks, pens and a zip case to hold them in, a camera case with the Keystone ( for Pennsylvania) on it, and a photo holder with George's unit crest on it.

Here is a close up of the photocase...which is rather impressive!

It's an amazing group...and they do such great work!
Right now is the "rainy" season in Afghanistan.  Which generally means LOTS of mud.

Here is a pic of two youth selling goods at a local bizzaar outside of Kabul (look at the ground!).

This is a picture of the ruins of the Queen castle (destroyed by the Russians). You can see the snow caps.

There are still many part of Afghanistan that get snow.  The country is rather mountainous.  But it may be a great idea to work on a few donations throughout our (US) summer months and then donate in the early fall (when it would be most useful to the citizens of Afghanistan).
