1  Cinderella in Halloween Costumes by daisyprincess98 on: November 08, 2011 08:10:02 PM
This is the first year my kids have been old enough to do the ToT thing, and DD adores Cinderella, so easy easy decision Smiley  The blue fabric is a sheet from Salvation Army, and I free-handed it using a current dress as a guide.  I don't at all expect to win, but would love some crafty encouragement Smiley

I am still working (sllllooooowwwwlllllyyyy) on my quilt, but wanted to share my good excuse for taking a break  Grin  My son will be 2 weeks old tomorrow!!! Once we settle into a good routine, I'll be able to get back to my sewing machine a bit more.

(Oh yes, almost 10 lbs.!!!!!)

Thanks, everyone!

Looks adorable! I have wanted to make dresses like this for my DD, but I'm still a novice sewer.

How do you attach the skirt part to the tank top? Is it difficult? Huh

It's not.  What I did is cut the tank where I wanted it, turned the skirt part inside out and placed it over the shirt and matched the seams.  then sewed it up Smiley

The promised "action" shot...this is what we got when we told her to "strike a pose" *lol*

Using a too short tank top and some leftover fabric from another project...excuse the model...

I will try and get some action shots tomorrow  Grin

6  Made my first diaper!!!! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by daisyprincess98 on: February 26, 2008 02:44:08 PM
It's a fitted using the fattycakes pattern.  A snap press is on the way to me, so no fasteners, yet!  JA flannel inner and outer with an internal microfiber soaker and a lay-in soaker of microfiber topped with flannel.

Forgive the mess, I was just gifted a bunch of clothes and am sorting them!   Wink  This pic shows how well it fits her chunky thighs!

I don't know what size it will be.  Is "normal" a size? Smiley

All 42 pinwheels are finished!

Also, Jinkies, don't be afraid to ask for help!  JoAnns on a weekend might not be the easiest to get help from, but the ladies that run the quilt shops are usually quilters themselves and would love to help a newbie!

Here is my update Smiley

Here is the plan:

Here is what I have done:

I have ALL the pieces cut for the center.  I do not have the binding cut yet, but that shouldn't be too difficult.

I have all the pinwheel pieces cut, and separated by fours into baggies

And tonight I started assembling the pinwheel units (I only did 12, it's late!)

So far, so good!  I tried to find patterns that were "busy" enough that it would still show when they were cut so small, and I wanted BRIGHT, not the pastel that the pattern calls for.  I have more fabrics than what is shown, but I didn't get them all photographed.  One day...

10  My new Christmas tree skirt in Winter Holidays by daisyprincess98 on: January 12, 2008 07:42:04 PM
Inspired by (ok, totally copied from) this post:

I have 1 child visiting her dad and 1 bun in the oven.  The puff paint is still drying, and I will add some sort of trim along the edge of the skirt, I just haven't found something i LOVE yet, and since this will be around a long time...

I plan to do the kids hands each year, but mine and DH's just this once.

Comments/suggestions welcome!
