1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Hippie sweater help on: April 12, 2008 06:47:40 AM
Hi there

I'm trying to crochet this awesome sweater: http://marketplace.burdafashion.com/product/17619-Hippie-Haekeljacke-im-Stil-der-70er
But the problem is that after about 10 rows it starts to curl (looks like a beanie or a bowl)  Angry (You start with a circle) And I was wondering what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions? I'd would really appreciate it.

2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Weird ear flap hat? on: November 27, 2007 05:37:13 AM
Hi there

I've decided to crochet an ear flap hat. My first one ever...yea!
I've used this tutorial: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=204027.0
But my hat looks weird now, doesn't it? Already wore it out today and a friend just said 'interesting' hat.
Interesting usually means 'bad', right?

P.S Why are the pics so small? Originally they are much bigger Huh

3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Problems with stretchy fabric on: January 30, 2007 06:34:40 AM
Hi guys

Is it just me, or it ist really hard to work with stretchy fabric? Especially when I want to cut the pieces. They never turn out even cause it is so strechty. Is there a trick to that?

Help  Huh

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My first pinafore dress on: January 23, 2007 07:04:49 AM

Well, I've decided to try to sew a pinafore dress, too.
It was actually very easy. It looks a little like 'Little house on the prairie' to me  Huh Now I'm wondering if I'm too old to be wearing this? I'm in my late 30's... Shocked What do you think?
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Seriously. Is this wearable? on: January 09, 2007 10:53:57 AM
Just finished up this top. It was pretty easy. But when I was done I've noticed that it has 'poofy' sleeves  Shocked I HATE poofy sleeves. You can't tell but it has an 'inset' in the front and it's gathered, too. It is a Simplicity pattern from the 60's. Thought I'd give it a try since I LOVE the 60's fashion. But now I'm not so sure if I'd leave the house like this  Huh
I wanna make another one, but without the 'poofiness'. I wonder if it's possible to narrow the sleeves before I sew them in? Any ideas? Is this really wearable  Undecided
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Rainbow cap and scarf/with tutorial on: January 01, 2007 08:34:19 AM

Just saw some lady wearing a similar scarf the other day and really liked it. Especially since the wintertime is so dark and depressing I thought these bright colors would be nice.
So I went to the next yarn store...well, this is the result  Wink
Now I'm not so sure if it isn't a little too colorful  Huh
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Groovy shroom/ying yang bag on: December 18, 2006 10:11:09 AM
...and another one.
Dang, please someone make me stop making bags   Undecided

This is my favorite since I'm totally into hippie stuff. Just bought the ying yang patch at a 'christmas market', the burgundy fabric used to be a table cloth and the shroom fabric I bought years ago.

I promised my husband to take a break now...oh no...no more sewing  Shocked

Peace... Wink
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / 2nd Messenger Bag (with pattern) on: December 17, 2006 09:08:47 AM
Hi there

I have the strange feeling that Iam hooked on making bags  Roll Eyes
No matter where I go I look around and see if I can find something I could make a bag out of...Like this one, it is made out of a scarf I saw the other day. The scarf was 90cm x 90cm, which wasn't enough for the bag so I had to use some brown corduroy for the lining. This is my 2nd bag, and I think I will actually use this one  Wink

9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / How to attach pockets... on: December 13, 2006 02:49:39 AM

Can someone explain to me how to attach pockets like these to a bag? Can't figure out how to sew them on... Huh

Thanks... Wink
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Bag lining on: December 01, 2006 05:29:45 AM
Hello all

I'm new here, and Iam amazed at all the talent around here.
Your guys bags are really neat  Wink

Well, after checking out some tutorials I've tried to sew a bag, too. But that didn't turn out so great  Sad My lining was totally 'bulky' and wrinkly. Is it supposed to be smaller than the actual purse fabric? Any ideas what went wrong?
