11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / I've never done that before swap on: April 24, 2007 09:43:10 PM
I have found SO MANY cool ideas on this site for things I've never done before and have wanted to try but am either too afraid or have no time. I've only done a few swaps and they've always included SOMETHING I've never done before, but I think it would be fun to put together a swap designed to "force" some of us out of our comfort zone, find a project or two on here that we've always wanted to try but never done and make it for someone else. since it would be every's first time at what they're doing there should be less swap anxiety and it would be fantastic to either pair up someone who knows HOW to do what you want so you could ask questions, or someone else who WANTS to do what you want to so the you could compare notes and problems.

anyone else?

16  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / FIRST POST (of a project) on: January 20, 2007 04:39:44 PM
so I am finally playing around again (after too long away) and am NOT a sewer, but really want to learn. so I made a pointy kitty. and MAN it's pretty sad, but I love it anyways. and my daughter seems to think it's pretty cool. also made her the felted kitty hat that someone on here made and I totally can't find the post, so THANK YOU whoever it was that made this hat first, I think it's smashing. I added wiskers after this photo was taken and now it's even cuter. hope these pics work, never done it before.

18  FIBER ARTS / Weaving: Discussion and Questions / tapestry? on: November 25, 2006 07:56:01 AM
don't know if I'm posting in the right forum or not, but YEARS ago (10+) when I was in college we made a kind of a loom from a comb and used it to make a (very small) tapestry. I THOUGHT it was called swedish knot tapestry, but google searching it came up with nothing. I would love to do it again, I loved the way it turned out, but cannot remember how I did it. any ideas?
19  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / tile a mirror? on: November 24, 2006 09:32:35 PM
I have a huge mirror on my wall that I want to make some kind of frame for. I am not interested in taking it down (it's that big and I just got my husband to finally put it back up after he ripped out the sink it was over) but want to do SOMETHING around the edges. can you glue tile onto a mirror? what would you do to it?
20  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / moon & stars on: November 24, 2006 09:30:23 PM
I just finished a birthday party for my 2 year old.  I am so over people having character theme birthday parties, we went with the moon and stars. I bought two huge dark blue sheets and painted them with stars and a moon, made one into a blanket that I laid on the ground with a pop-up tent over it with open sides, and hung the other sheet as a backdrop for a play area for the children, found a cow sticker so she had the cow jumping over the moon. made a huge moon cake with star cookies sprinkled around it, and for a gift bag made some candles in little jars with a tag that said "star in a jar" and put some of my cookies in that, too. it was a blast and so much fun, and she loved it! I don't know how to add photos or I would put one up of my cake and cookies...my favorite part and the only part I got a great pic of!
