11  COOKING / Dessert / Easy Fruit Cobbler on: May 16, 2009 09:25:00 AM

This is a recipe that I halved. It calls for any kind of fruit but I used frozen blackberries. I also used vanilla sugar (sugar that you set aside and leave a vanilla pod in for a week or so...or longer) and I put a splash of almond extract.

Please don't mind the mat that its on, it needs to have the crumbs shaken out of it Tongue

Easy Fruit Cobbler

Ingredients
4 TBS butter
3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 TSP baking powder
1/4 TSP salt
3/4 cup Milk
2 cups fresh berries (strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries or any combo of fruits...or 12 oz of frozen berries)
1 TBS sugar

Directions
Heat oven to 350F (180C)
Put butter in an 8-inch square or 9-inch round pan; melt in oven then take out and set aside
Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in small bowl, add milk and whisk to form smooth batter
pour in pan then scatter fruit over. Sprinkle with 1 TBS of sugar
Bake until batter browns and fruit bubbles (About 50-60mins)

Serve warm or room temp with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. (Its just fine by itself too) Serves 4
12  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Heart patch on: October 30, 2008 12:41:55 PM

I found the pattern on Youtube.  Its amazing how useful watching someone make something can be.  And I have to tell you, this is a whole lot easier to make a heart this way than to do it the way i was trying to do.

19  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / New to knitting on: January 10, 2007 09:39:47 AM
So I know how to crochet but I have no clue how to knit.  Yesterday I was at Hobby Lobby and they were trying to get rid of all the Christmas stuff so when I saw a learn to knit kit to make a santa hat and scarf I thought Why not?  Anyway I think I figured out how to cast on and I think how to knit the first row but for some reason after that I can't figure it out.  Angry

Can anyone point me into a direction of a good picture tut?  I've tried doing it by the directions in the kit and well...maybe I'm too blonde for them :p

Any help would be great Smiley

Thanks
