1  Re: Ongoing Offer-What-You-Have Swap - May08 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by coral on: May 30, 2008 04:46:25 PM
I claim the water book, the FQ of green patterned felt, and 4 handmade journals!  Kiss

Claims this month: 2
Claims allowed (outstanding): 3
Sendouts not sent: 1
Sendouts in transit: 0
Sendouts received: 0

Here we go.  One ball of yarn = 1/3 claim.  The ball on the bottom right is Knit One Crochet Too PJ, it is polyester fleece yarn.  The one on the top right is very pretty, it's a novelty yarn and looks very similar to Filati FFF Moira but the ball band is missing.

20 bottlecaps = 1/3 claim (not pictured - they are mostly stuff like Bud Light

Beads, red eyelets (only the red eyelets are left): 1/2 claim each (for instance, if you want the red beads and the red eyelets, that's one claim). The sparkly beads are crystal.  They are gorgeous but I'm not making much jewelry anymore.  The pearlized beads I will throw in for free if you want them.

Wine glass markers.  1/2 claim for all.

Altered Journal/memo book (not made by me).  1/2 claim.

The following items are one claim each:

Plain Scrapbook to embellish with your own art.  15 acid free pages inside. Expandable. There's a couple small scratches which could be easily covered.

Books:

A paper press.

3  Re: Zippered Pouch Swap Gallery!!! in The Swap Gallery by coral on: May 26, 2008 08:18:43 PM
I received my wonderful pouch and goodies from quail!  It has awesome fleur-de-lis embellishment and zipper pull. 3 buttons of bands I love, and a cool Knit Happens button.  Also shells from the beach (she lives in Florida), and a lot of candy not pictured because I ate it already.   Grin  I love it all!

4  Re: Fiber Friday May 16th 2008 in Spinning: Completed Projects by coral on: May 16, 2008 03:15:26 PM
Gosh, this thread always makes my mouth water.  I've been dying to post something here, and finally this week I was able to produce my first handspun ever, on a drop spindle. It's nothing to write home about.  The roving was really pretty, received in a swap a long time ago.  It's 3 yards! LOL! and it took about an hour for me to do this!  Roll Eyes  It's single ply.  After doing this I started watching YouTube videos of people spinning and I think I can do a lot better next time. I really enjoyed it and am going to buy more roving soon... I present... three yards of Sunken Treasure...

5  Large Felted Eyeball Bowl in Crochet: Completed Projects by coral on: February 21, 2008 10:15:23 AM
I made this huge eyeball bowl for a swap.  It is my second crochet project. I've been a knitter for a very long time, and recently taught myself to crochet!  I really love it.  I just winged this, making it up as I went along, single crocheting in the round.  I really love the way it turned out!!  The third pic shows what it looked like before I felted it (I had to put it through the wash 3 times before it felted right!). Hope you like!

6  Re: dying black using food dyes, can it be done? in Dyeing: Discussion and Questions by coral on: December 04, 2007 02:39:27 PM
Yeah, it is really cool.  This is how mine turned out with the black Wilton's dye.  It reminds me a lot of some yarn I bought by The Fibre Company and it made me wonder if I had discovered their secret formula, lol!

7  A couple christmas ornaments in Knitting: Completed Projects by coral on: November 25, 2007 12:34:56 PM
I made these ornaments for a swap.  They were so easy!  They are both free patterns and very quick and super cute.

The first is from http://www.canadianliving.com/crafts/knitting/knitted_ornaments.php
I found some beaded garland stuff at my LYS and sewed it on to complete the look (took about 7" of garland).  The main ornament was made from some recycled merino wool yarn from a sweater I unraveled.

The next one is a felted origami crane from http://knitnotwar.com/crane_pattern.pdf
After felting and sewing up the crane to form the shape, I did single chain crochet for about 6" and sewed it on the crane to form a loop. Sorry the photo is a little dark!  For this one I used Manos del Uruguay yarn for the crane and Koigu kpppm for the chain.

Thanks for looking!

8  Re: Sweat Shoppe Round 11 (sss11) signups through Oct 13! in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by coral on: October 10, 2007 03:44:13 PM
Hook rolls are for crochet hooks I believe...

I personally would love a fabric grocery bag Knichole!

Here's a pic of the bangles I'll be offering.  Whether they are made with silk, cashmere, and what color are up for negotiation when I get the list of people who want them. I have the yarn in a few different colors and can also dye the yarn in an attempt at customization.  Cheesy
I have silk yarn in silver, camo colorway, black, yellow, and the green you see here (the yellow can be dyed a new color which is what that green is)
I have cashmere yarn in light blue (can be dyed), darker blue, light brown, bright royal purple, and maybe others - I need to check.
I have a silk/linen blend yarn in natural off-white tweed that can be dyed.
I probably have others stashed away I don't remember right now.

10  Shell Button Earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by coral on: October 08, 2007 03:27:14 PM
I made these with shell buttons, leather cord, and sterling silver wire with sterling earhooks.  It took me awhile to figure out how to wrap the leather cord so the earrings would sit right, but I did it. What do ya think?
