21  Raggy Ipod Cozy in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by pertelot on: July 14, 2008 03:02:17 PM
well i was in the process of making a rag quilt when i got distracted and decided i needed an ipod cozy using some of the flannel fabric i was using since it was just so cute! i ended up making three total but the third is not pictured because my mom has it, its the same except its penguin flannel with a blue strap.  two have velcro closure, but the last i made with a button because i figure it would be more secure... well enough talking and onto pictures!

i just love that plaid  Cheesy

it may be a bit hard to see but the front is quilted in the ditch and the back is just a plain quilted grid.. i used batting on both sides because i because i really dont like feel the clumpy polyester stuffing inside a pillow and it seemed to work well!

25  my blue quilt is finally done! in Quilting: Completed Projects by pertelot on: May 17, 2008 09:02:55 PM
i just finished this thing like 20 min ago im so pumped! this quilt was the second thing i ever pieced, the first being juts a small sampler wall hanging (my next project to work on finishing). this was atleast 5 years ago.... i had decided id learn to hand quilt and and hand quilt the thing. its not that big, but i had trouble focusing  since i decided to quilt straight lines....which was ratherrrr boring but i finally finished the quilting at college when i was missing my sewing machine

just a close up of the improving of my stitching... i started with the line on the right and after doing half the quilt i sewed the line to the left... im proud of it  Cheesy

and heres a pretty corner where i was no longer sewing straight lines! for some reason i really liked the grayish blue fabric i used for the binding and inside border

26  Fancy New Doily in Crochet: Completed Projects by pertelot on: February 12, 2008 07:21:27 PM
This is the third doily ive made, but the other two were not very impressive.  The multicolored peachish thread is hand dyed that i had gotten off of ebay, the seller had so many pretty crochet threads i had a hard time picking two! i really liked how this doily turned out so i mailed it to my mom with a card for valentines day as a surprise.  I really like doilies but i dont really have a good spot for one in my dorm!

a little blurry but a nice close up

27  Train Quilt for Dad in Quilting: Completed Projects by pertelot on: January 21, 2008 09:37:08 PM
I'm happy I was able to get this quilt done for my dad before i left for college... cant beat finishing at midnight the night before i have to leave! My dads a bit of a train nerd so he paid for some fabric I had picked out with the promise id make him a train quilt...two years ago and i finally got around to making it. The Lionel colors are a bright blue and orange and I think the orange in the quilt is a bit bright. I had originally picked out something darker but he complained until i changed it, but when he wanted a brighter blue its where i drew the line because I was afraid it would look tacky.  Overall, I am pleased with how it turned out, and now maybe ill be able to finish something for myself for once! finished quilts for others - 5   finished quilts for me - 0

a little blurry but a close up of the train fabric

and the kitty getting comfy

30  so many stupid little squares.... in Quilting: Completed Projects by pertelot on: July 04, 2007 09:41:48 PM
..but, i do have to admit i really like how this one turned out.  Most of the fabric is vintage, i originally bought the precut squares from a flea market in a box for 10 dollars, which i thought was expensive at the time, but after realzing all the differnt fabrics and time used to cut them i know i got a good deal.  theres so many differnt fabrics, it makes me happy  Cheesy .some of the squares had to be resized as i went along cause they were mishapen and not really...square, but that wasnt too hard to do.  i made this like a year ago but it was a present to my bf andddd smart me forgot to take pictures, but i have it again now cause i had to fix some of the strings that he somehow managed to break....not too sure how he managed to do that one...

here it is longways so you can see more of the fabrics in it.. it looks real big in the picture, but is only about the size of a twin bed

i dont know if you can see too well.... but this is why i always  prewash my fabrics now.... the dark blue border ran onto the white and some of the outside squares /cry

happy quilting  Wink
