1  Re: Sweat shop swap (SSS) round 9! woot! in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by foolily on: May 06, 2007 11:50:19 PM
Here is the prototype of the headband I had talked about in the previous thread for this round.  Each headband would use different fabrics and have different complimenting flowers on them.  Widest part of the headband is about 2" wide.

Is this something people would be interested in?  Or would headbands without felt flowers be preferred?

So far I'm loving everything I see this round!!!

*****EDITed to include all Bloomin' Headbands******

Left to Right: blue stripes, black paisley, white dots, blue plaid, green forest, brown houndstooth
Note: all headbands are reversible except for my prototype (1st one from the left) that's why there are now 6 to choose from.

My partner, igobylorib, asked me to post some pics of what I sent her since she's very busy this week.

A reversible kerchief for her daughter, and a matching mini one for her daughter's barbie doll.

A reversible headband for herself

square for her quilt

the passport cover that started it all

a chalkboard tote with a chalkboard, eraser and boxes of chalk for her son

a craft apron with cherry blossoms based on 2 items from her wists

Hopefully she can post some action pics when she has time.  I want to see her cute kids!

I just received this eyecandy from cindy_23492 today.  I love the blue and orange color combo she chose.  And I love granny squares!  I wanted to share it with my kitty but he ran away...

I love it!  Thank you Cindy!

I received an awesome package from igobylorib today! (Yo.. check it out dawg..  Tongue)
Sorry no pics of the box or the wrapping it came in... I was too excited and forgot all about taking pics until afterwards.

A super soft and fluffy and warm scarf.

An extremely professionally made recipe binder.  Hardly looks handmade, right?

And she put tabs in it for different recipe categories.  It's still empty because I'm still learning how to cook (real) food and the few recipes that I do have need to be recopied or typed up before they're allowed in here!

Last but not least, a beautifully made photo frame.  I still haven't printed photos of the boy and I (bad foolily!) so until then, my cute grandpa will take up temporary residence.  Not sure if you can tell by the pic but there is a little glass bottle which holds all sorts of nature goodness including something that looks like a skeleton of a leaf (very very pretty).

I LOVE LOVE LOVE it all!!! Thank you so much!

Long overdue pictures...  Here are some personal swaps that spun off the Sweat Shop Swap 8.

First, I swapped a passport cover for a lovely photo frame from rockmygypsysoul.  This was totally not planned before hand but doesn't it look perfect with my xmas photo?  Wink  Kind of looks like a Christmas wreath.
Second, some fabric was swapped for the cutest cherry pendant from atsuko.  It was originally a necklace but I asked her if she could alter it so that my poor naked bag would be naked no longer and she did just that. Thank you!  Cheesy

Today I packed up the last of my babies and sent him to his new home.  Hopefully it will be a good fit.  Here is the last family picture I took before the sextuplets were separated.  A big sister and a little sister are missing from the photo but hopefully their new moms will post pics.

Here are the final Forget-your-passport-not Passport Covers for my recipients to choose from.

Clockwise from top left (forgive me for lack of more imaginative names):
green+pink bubbles, green+orange cats, blue+brown flowers, orange+blue aliens, yellow+blue flowers, red+white flowers.  Inside fabric matches the outside ones.

devilninny- I'd be interested in fabric bookmarkers.. Do you have pics or links to pics?

I will be offering 5 Forget-Your-Passport-Not Passport Covers.

After 3 unsatisfactory designs, here is the final prototype.  Color combos may vary.  It fits 1 passport (American or Canadian or a 5" x 3 5/8" passport), 2 or more cards (for hotel key cards, airline membership cards, ID cards and whatnot), and boarding passes.  I will be pre-crafting but if your passport is bigger than what was stated above, I can make one to fit yours as long as you give me passport measurements.  (I hope this doesn't apply to everyone!)

Hi everyone!  I was soooo jealous last round because I couldn't join, so I'm not giving up this chance!  This is my first shot at SSS.

It seemed there was still some interest in pouches even though there were 2 or more offered last round.  I'd like to offer patchwork zippered pouches, about 4" by 6".  Are there too many already being offered?  Would anyone be interested in receiving something like this?  They wouldn't necessarily be red.  The back side is linen (same as main front), and the inside of this one is solid red.

Receivables:  I'd be especially interested in receiving... anything stenciled, phone charms, scarflettes, bead/button bouquet, cloth pads, pin cushions, any kind of dyi kits...
