121  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Meat-Themed Valentine's Day! on: January 26, 2007 03:32:53 PM
Maybe you could each send each other on a meat/veggie scavenger hunt?  Like you could each come up with a list of specific foods to make the other person run all over town looking for at places like international food markets/import stores or whatever, depending on what's available where you live.  To make it really crazy, you could go on the meat hunt and he on the veggie hunt.  Then when you're both done, maybe make some kind of romantic dinner with the things you've bought?  Does any of this make sense?  I hope so!  And I also hope you have a fabulous valentines day!   Smiley

Doh!  I was going to suggest exactly the same thing as rockmygypsysoul!  My other idea is to do some kind of shadowbox or collage of hockey stuff, like ticket stubs from hockey games, pictures/newspaper articles, maybe a puck... good luck, I'm sure you'll come up with something clever!

Hi Melinda, so glad to see you are still making clever crafts and beautiful babies.  Thanks for passing along the link to this site, I am enjoying it!  --Heidi

That's awesome!  God bless Savers-- about 80% of my craft "supplies" come from there and ARC.  (Old clothes cut up for the fabric, books for artwork and text to put in collages, little tchotchkies and trinkets for altered art, etc.)  I love how you put text from the recipes around the sides-- nice touch!

What a thoughful and crafty gf you are!  I started to alter a deck of cards once using pictures from a page-a-day calendar of funny/ironic signs, adding artwork that fit with the signs, but I got burned out after about 9-10 cards.  So finishing a whole deck is definitely admirable!  And they turned out great-- good job!

I love those drawers!  I like the idea of a journal page for the back, maybe a list of what the packaging/images on the front and sides mean to you (if anything) or a made-up story incorporating all the images.  Good luck!

That's really beautiful, love the ribbon (at least I think it's ribbon?)  Reader's Digest books are awesome for altered books because the covers make them look like those old school smart-people books.  Wink Excellent job.
