34  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: I glued my hand to my crotch. on: January 29, 2007 12:29:17 AM
I was imagining that you were a guy in a crotch scratch position......
I HAD to read this thread and i have been laughing my ass off !

Im a Hot Glue related incident, i once took so much skin off my index fingers while flower arranging that it was bleeding!  Cry

It is BAD.....Id rather be stuck to something, at least (in most cases)
it doesn't hurt as much when you get it on your fingers.
And it doesn't leave that horrible glue string all over everything!
35  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / AUSTRALIA / Re: Australians: Spotlight VIP Cards on: January 28, 2007 11:42:55 PM
When our polycotton is $5.50 - $7.00 a metre and only in the primary colours you just can't compare!  We drive the 2 1/2 hours to get to the closest decent sized shops anyway.

Can anyone tell me why the prices are so different at each spotlight???
I bought chiffon at rockhampton spotlight for $1 a meter on clearance, and then at the sunny coast it was $3 a metre on clearance.
Exactly the same barcode and colour.
It might not seem like much but when you need like 40 metres of it to cover a roof top its a fairly big price difference.

36  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / AUSTRALIA / Re: Sunshine Coast Craftsters on: January 28, 2007 03:57:39 AM
I am vistiting the sunny coast (staying tiwh in-laws) with no car so I have only been to the spotlight once and the local one in rockhampton could fit in it like 3 times! it is huge!!
i haven't had a chance to hit the op shops (MIL Doesn't op shop Cry)
And i am going home tommorow, i will have to PM you fr a list of where you reccomend on going when i come down next time Smiley
Oh, I forgot! I bought a load of those buttons you can cover in fabric. You know the ones that cost about $6 for 5 at spotlight? But I got them really cheap at the Op Shop in Noosa. It was 50 cents for about 10 and there were LOADS of them. I think I bought about 15 packs!

I forgot to ask, do either of you live near cooroy??
We wanted our wedding ceremony there bt a big storm went through and the gardens got hauled up...just wondering what they looked like now if anyone lives near there...i am 8 hours away Sad

Ahhh Spotlight. Such a love and hate relationship. Particulary after two years work in the Furnishings Department (spotlight Rockhampton)

Anyone ever come in there? I don't know if there's any CQ Craftsters around!

I was just wondering if anyone worked at the spotlight in rockhampton.....Im out in blackwater but it is well worth the two n a half hours to get to my 'local' spotlight. lol
I have a Love hate relationship with spotlight too.

40  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Wedding in 6 months? Am I insane? on: January 27, 2007 02:49:17 AM
We are all insane!! Grin Anything is possible with a little help from your friends though!

Thanks so much for this thread

I have been engaged for nearly 3 years and we only decided at christmas that yes we are actually going to get married this year
(had a slight detour and had a beautiful baby girl, who is a beautiful run-away toddler now.)  we have set the date... april 21st one of my bridesmaids are going to be ready to burst in june (her first was 3weeks early) and the other is having a bub in september and i really didn't want them to have the stress of both a toddler and an infant at the wedding.

If your fiance is like mine, give him a list of things to be in charge of (they feel like they are giving something back and it is one less thing to stress about)
and then divide up everything left, you have to do between yourself and whoever can help you, i mean what else are bridesmaids for??
