11  Needle Felted Hello Kitty Magnets in Felting: Completed Projects by BabySkilz on: January 29, 2008 08:38:00 AM
I made these for the Hello Kitty Swap and think they turned out so cute.  The only thing I didn't care for was the color of Deer Lou.  I tried to combine colors to get it closer to her actual color, but it didn't really work.  Nobody else probably cares, but I admit I am a bit of a perfectionist.

12  Needle Felted Tree Magnet and Owls to go with it in Felting: Completed Projects by BabySkilz on: January 29, 2008 08:16:58 AM
I made these for the Owl Swap and I am very happy with how they turned out.  My husband told me that they are his favorite things I've ever made!  He was so sad to see them go.  He tried to talk me into keeping just one or two of the owls, but I assured him that I will make him very own set.

The whole set:

All laid out:

And my favorite items: This is the cuetest little guy ever!

I love hot tea and now I can have it anytime.  This holds everything I would need.

The yarn is one of the softest wool yarns I have ever felt.  I love the patterns she sent with and I can't wait to get started on them.  Thank you Lisateacher you have been a great swap partner and I hope you enjoy your package too.

15  Felted goodwill sweaters into messenger "Man Bag" in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by BabySkilz on: October 09, 2007 01:13:29 PM
I made this for the significant others swap.  My partner's SO needed a "man Bag", so this is what I came up with.  I found two wool sweaters at goodwill and felted them at home. I forgot to take before pictures.  The grey was a cardigan sweater with pockets on the front.  These made up the front part of the bag.  I added pockets on the inside.  One big enough to hold a cell phone or whatever and one for pens and pencils.  I simply crocheted the strap for it.  I'm not much of a sewer, but I think this turned out good.

I'm so glad you liked everything.  That's too bad about the glass. Sad  I guess now he has no choice, but to be bad.  (Since the Rebel one is the one that broke.)  Here is what the set looked like before it left.

Here is a close up of the kittys' mouse.

What a great swap!  Thank you Moonshire, you're a great partner too!! Cheesy

My SO received his awesome package from Moonshire this weekend!!!  It is so great!  I don't have any action shots, but I will try to post some later.  OK so on to the good stuff.

His favorite beer is Corona so...

"Tits on a Tie"  as Moonshire's SO calls it (awesome embroidery)

A very cool "man bag"  (maybe his new diaper bag for our 18mo old)  The inside is lined with fabric matching the skull on the outside.

And last, but not least.  His favorite item.....
(I might have to try my hand at one of these.  They would great x-mas presents for some of the boys on my list)

Thank you Moonshire for all of the great stuff.  You've got some serious crafting skilz. Cheesy  I will be sending today or tomorrow.  I hope your SO likes his things as much as mine liked his.

Awesome work BabySkilz!!
Your pics are nice and clear also!!
Thanks so much for helping us figure this out! I can do a few stitches and have been dying to try these.  I remember my grandmother in the 70's making the hanging glass tables and such.  I wish I knew where all her old books are, I bet they are just thrown away!!   Cry
I still have one of her old tables hanging in my bathroom!!

I actually taught myself using one of my mom's old books.  This design I first saw at a Grateful Dead show and I was so amazed.  I didn't think I would ever be able to do it.  It looks way more difficult than it really is.

Do you remember the Owls?  I made this one for a Harry Potter Swap.  I think they are adorable.
