1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / let it rain love - a mobile on: June 23, 2008 06:15:07 PM
i've had a soft spot for mobiles for a long time... and i finally decided to try mobile-making out for myself... and let me tell you - i've got a new appreciation for balance.

it's tough getting a good picture of something that - by definition - moves. but here it is:

so this is what i managed to make with some fishing line, an embroidery hoop, a few chipboard shapes and bits and pieces of papers, some buttons and lace. and tiny clothespins. etc.

thanks for looking Smiley

hurrah for aprons Smiley  i love getting to take a look at everyone's work!

my package from oppositeofwar was waiting for me on tuesday night when i got home from vacation (thank goodness, cos it had been sitting there since saturday!  luckily, no one could've guessed what wonderful goodies were inside.)

first, an absolutely yummy moose munch bar!  which i kinda devoured immediately after opening the package. whoops. it had been a long day of travel Smiley my first one ever, i think i have been missing out.

also, some cinnamon & blood orange chocolate (two of my *favorite* flavors)

and this!

eee!  a cupcake apron!  i looooove it.

and a close-up of the cupcakes (they're so sweet, wish i could eat 'em)

thanks SO much, oppositeofwar!

Not sure if you're still around, diamunds, but this is great! One question: is it just a simple basketweave pattern? I think so, but at the same time, the stockinette sections seem to "pop" more than I've seen. I'm going to make my mom a wrap in basketweave and am curiuos what it will look like.

I like it!

Thanks!  And yup - it's just a regular basketweave!  Maybe the yarn makes a difference in terms of how much it "pops"?  Seems possible Smiley
