I love ballerina flats, what I don’t like is their price (40 € is a bit too much for me), so after browsing this wonderful forum I thought I could do them myself.
I bought some pairs of these very cheap (3 € each) and plain canvas-type shoes
I cut the front part and a bit of the sides to give it the typical ballerina shape, sewed some colourful bias tape around the raw edge, added some embellishments, and these are the results:
The beige ones are the first I made, and I cut too much from the heel part. When I walked fast they slipped, so I had to sew some elastic, and now they stay in place.
I love them a lot. They’re very comfortable, can get washed in the washing machine, and with four pairs I always have cute shoes to match with my clothes!

Ohmigosh I LOVE the purple ones- they'd go perfectly with my lavender polka dotted scarf sort of '60s look. Well anyway, they ROCK.
