1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Everything was destroyed! on: October 19, 2007 11:52:46 AM
Well this weekend, I had a little problem with my bathroom and while I was out on Saturday my sink broke and the pipe busted. Well on to the problem. All my paper, stickers, cards, everything were destroyed! It has taken awhile to get it all together and very expensive. Anyone know of good sites besides etsy to get good prices for large quanties? I need just about anything you can think of. I had alot of valuable things that were also destroyed and this has been really hard on me since most things that were destroyed were helping me with an income. I sell my cards on etsy but I can not make any new ones to list due to the fact that I have no supplies. It has been very depressing to me.  Embarrassed and I cant really express my feelings to my non-crafty friends. lol. But I would be really grateful for all the help. Also to get alot of my supplies I traded and got some awesome things that i cannot get again! This weekend was just bad in all. Sorry about ranting but Im done now. Im just looking for cheap prices, larga quanties!

I know that the owner of the sampler is on here so i would like her own input. Plus others. Also i was wondering where i should start for a shop. I want to make my own and dont know where to start really. Maybe i should just go to etsy or something. Im rambling. lol. But i didnt want to send in an email without a website and get rejected for that reason.

I have a singer. Dont know what kind though. its a new one kinda. A few years old. The bottom stitch is falling out and the top stitch is loose. I keep sewing on scraps of fabric but it's not working. There is thread on both spools top and bottom. When I pull the fabric to cut the thread it's coming loose. Can anyone help me at all?

If this is in the wrong place sorry I didn't know where to post it.

8  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Im sorry about Posting Alot. Just getting started on: May 18, 2007 08:15:17 AM
OK well i posted in here a few days about about my seets in a jar. I was wondering if people could help me design a menu type thing cuz when my dad tells his friends at work they just tell me what they want but i want to make some menus to pass out to his friends with descriptions, prices, and such. The price is by the yeild and type of cookie. For the Basic Sugar cookie its $6 for 2 dozen plus $2 for another dozen. but something like choc. oatmeal raisin or something would be a bit more. Am i asking to much for these? And also i want it to have categoreys. Like a break down between cookie, brownies, cakes, muffins, and bread. The smallest cat. i think would be bread cuz im just gonna do choc chip bread and bananna nut bread. Then muffins then brownies then cookies. Im sorry if i am asking to many questions. Im just trying to get a business going and i have no idea and im only 16 and im doing it all by myself. But i just want a way to design a menu with the different things i sell, the types, price, desription, and yeild.

Chocolate Chip Cookies
Basic Chocolate Chip Cookies
The are your everyday cookies that your mom would have when you came home from school
2 dozen- $7
so on and so forth...

If this is confusing just ask me any questions and ill answer then.

Thanks again craftsters!!
