1  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / I Had a Tie Dye Party! on: July 14, 2017 10:29:02 AM

Last year I had a crafting party for my birthday so I decided to make it a tradition and do it again this year! This year we did Tie Dye! I also did a few ice dyeing projects! I bought a TON of supplies because, well, i just had SOOOOOOOOOO many ideas! I ended up with a lot of dye left so I'm sure I'll be doing more soon, especially ice dyeing!

First i started with bleaching a few black clothing items. Some yoga pants, leggings a tee shirts! I love the result from the bleaching and then adding dye to them made them even better! I definitely want to bleach more of my clothes! Two of the shirts we left bleached only but I don't have pics of those yet. My boyfriend did the second tee and second pair of pants!

We also tried ice dyeing! Such a fun and easy technique! I did some fabric and a tee shirt. My boyfriend did the black/blue one.

We made matching swirl tees. His is the first one.

Then we tried shapes. I did the alien, SO did the smiley!

We tried lots of different ways to fold them to get different looks.
Crinkling the tees was my favorite! SO did the first two.

My friend did these.

My mom did these.

My grandma did these.

We had a blast and I'm so exited to do more!

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Rick and Morty Swap (or Adult Cartoon Swap) on: May 27, 2017 11:40:01 AM
I just recently found Rick and Morty and it's just the Nihilistic show I've needed in my life. Anyone interested in a R&M swap or Adult Cartoon Swap (Futurama, family Guy, etc)?
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Art and Craft Tool Assemblage Piece (practical artwork) on: April 17, 2017 09:59:24 PM
I made this for. Blupaisan in the assemblage art swap. She requested something useful due to limited space. I was excited for this request because I've been having my brother save all the baby treat puff containers for me and I have dozens!

I had a completely different idea to do a mosaic but once I started doing that I realized I just didn't have the patience for it. I think I got so angry I went to bed early. Maybe one day I'll actually do a mosaic haha.

So I decoupaged strips of gelli prints all around, glued a wooden bobbin and plaque to the bottom. Painted, nailed and glued all this stuff to it. I actually glued to many things and had to rip some stuff off. Luckily I didn't ruin any of the paper underneath.

This is definitely one of my favorite things I've ever made!!!

7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Custom Frankenstein Mickey and Bride of Frankenstein Minnie Tsum Tsums on: April 17, 2017 02:02:19 AM
Made these for a friend that saw the Frankenmickey tsum for the 13 Days of Halloween swap. I used actual "official" tsums for the bases and worked the elements on top. I painted the faces and added the stitches and clothes. I'm planning on some more horror themed tsums coming up next!

8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Lots of TM Patches: Cats, Eels, Mutants and More - With Progress Pics on: April 14, 2017 01:08:20 AM
I made these for the recent TM Patch Swap and a personal swap.

I knew i needed to do a lot of planning before actually starting on all these TM patches, so I made some quick little sketches to get my process started. As you can see one of the patches didn't make it to completion.

I cut out some of the designs in felt.

Choose my fabrics and got them ready to sew.

Sew around the edges and cut off the excess fabric and batting.

Fold down the endges and stitched all around. I prefer doing this straight stitch instead of the traditional whip stitch (?) because it is easier for me.

These were made for noooitaremybirthday.

The budgie was my favorite because of the teeny tiny tm patch i stitched onto it.

These were made for roler.

The eel was my favorite because of the 3d eel and the pun.

These were made for a art friend of mine not on craftster. The poison apple was supposed to go in this group also but I didn't like how it turned out.

The mutant cat was my favorite of all!

Ok so time for some glamour shots!

10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / My Favorite Failed Prototype on: March 16, 2017 02:03:01 AM
I took a break from working on my projects for the TM Patch swap to stitch myself something.

This is inspired by the suuuuuppppeeeerrrr depressed android, Marvin, a character from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I used the version of him from the old TV show instead of the movie just because I knew that one first. I might do more from the story to go along with this, or make more along the lines of mental heath/depression as a sort of therapy. I've been feeling really down down down lately so it's nice to kind of think turn that into something more positive.
