2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Blue Baby Gift Set - Blanket, Lovie, Hat and Booties on: July 01, 2018 01:14:28 PM
Our boss is having a baby just before we are so I got some practice making baby stuff! I used four skeins of I love this yarn brand, which was so soft and comfy! I used the 'Continuous Square Blanket' pattern on Ravelry for the blanket and lovie, winged it on the hat, and made up the pattern for the booties. I had tried several bootie patterns and none of my stitch counts came out right so I made up my own pattern and didn't write it down. So I couldn't remember what I did for the first one, which turned out perfect, and the second one ended up with two extra stitches. Whoops! I crocheted the baseball in some cream cotton I had. It's about the size of a golf ball.

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Granny Stitch Blanket very WONKY on: May 11, 2018 09:43:51 AM
I'm making a small blanket with this pattern. I'm using red heart super saver with a J hook (because i couldn't find the I that the yarn suggested).

Basically since I've been working it out, about 15 in the round rows the corners are actute angles and it's pretty wavy.

Can i fix this with blocking later or should i start over?

thanks -audio
4  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Using Batik in microwavable projects? on: February 26, 2018 11:44:02 AM
Can you use batik fabrics in microwavable projects, such as bowl cozies? Like is it safe even though the fabrics are made with the wax. I tried searching the answer a few times but can only find info on doing batiking with the microwave.

5  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / I Had a Tie Dye Party! on: July 14, 2017 10:29:02 AM

Last year I had a crafting party for my birthday so I decided to make it a tradition and do it again this year! This year we did Tie Dye! I also did a few ice dyeing projects! I bought a TON of supplies because, well, i just had SOOOOOOOOOO many ideas! I ended up with a lot of dye left so I'm sure I'll be doing more soon, especially ice dyeing!

First i started with bleaching a few black clothing items. Some yoga pants, leggings a tee shirts! I love the result from the bleaching and then adding dye to them made them even better! I definitely want to bleach more of my clothes! Two of the shirts we left bleached only but I don't have pics of those yet. My boyfriend did the second tee and second pair of pants!

We also tried ice dyeing! Such a fun and easy technique! I did some fabric and a tee shirt. My boyfriend did the black/blue one.

We made matching swirl tees. His is the first one.

Then we tried shapes. I did the alien, SO did the smiley!

We tried lots of different ways to fold them to get different looks.
Crinkling the tees was my favorite! SO did the first two.

My friend did these.

My mom did these.

My grandma did these.

We had a blast and I'm so exited to do more!

7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Rick and Morty Swap (or Adult Cartoon Swap) on: May 27, 2017 11:40:01 AM
I just recently found Rick and Morty and it's just the Nihilistic show I've needed in my life. Anyone interested in a R&M swap or Adult Cartoon Swap (Futurama, family Guy, etc)?
8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Art and Craft Tool Assemblage Piece (practical artwork) on: April 17, 2017 09:59:24 PM
I made this for. Blupaisan in the assemblage art swap. She requested something useful due to limited space. I was excited for this request because I've been having my brother save all the baby treat puff containers for me and I have dozens!

I had a completely different idea to do a mosaic but once I started doing that I realized I just didn't have the patience for it. I think I got so angry I went to bed early. Maybe one day I'll actually do a mosaic haha.

So I decoupaged strips of gelli prints all around, glued a wooden bobbin and plaque to the bottom. Painted, nailed and glued all this stuff to it. I actually glued to many things and had to rip some stuff off. Luckily I didn't ruin any of the paper underneath.

This is definitely one of my favorite things I've ever made!!!
