1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: That's right, I sprayed my shoes... on: August 07, 2008 09:34:42 PM
hey! I just bought those same shoes(at a thrift store for $3..hurray!). Do you think this technique would work with regular (fabric?) spray paint? because those looked really well finished Smiley
2  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / A blank canvas. What is the best technique? on: August 07, 2008 09:08:34 PM
I have recently bought a three dollar pair of white vans at a thrift store(hurray!) and I was wondering what the best techniques for revamping them would be.
-can I dye my canvas shoes nicely without messing up the rubber or anything?
-I'd like to paint them, but I don't want them to look shiny...
-I could sew fabric on there...but I can't think of any sweet ideas...
-sharpies...I don't want it to bleed either.
I don't know. What do you guys think is the best technique?
here's the deal:
I'm not really into the skull and crossbones sort of thing
I really want them to be cute and witty...but if it would be just a cool,                        original design, that would also do.

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: My musical black purse! -my first purse that actually looks like a purse :) on: July 17, 2008 03:49:40 PM
haha...thank you
the sad thing is that the black fabric attracts lint really easily
I have gotten out the lint roller multiple times...haha
and yes, music follows me everywhere Smiley

This is the first purse I've made that I actually enjoy. I made my own pattern with a paper grocery bag..haha

the inside is a little messed up...but it doesn't really matter to me Smiley

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Secret sister troubles! on: August 29, 2007 07:32:19 PM
okay, so my soccer team has forced me once again to take part in the secret sister fiasco
we have six home games...and each one we have to provide a 2-5 dollar gift for our sister
My secret sister is Ruth, she is the goalie, and i usually play defense..so we know each other pretty well...
she is fifteen years old, her family is very centered around sports, and she is very talkative

this is her list of "likes"
-rasberry ice (crystal light)
-organized things
-french fries

some of my ideas so far are:
-a cantelope with sharpied on dots to look like a soccer ball..hehe
-a soccer pillow?
-a bucket of baby ruths(the candy)
-and i think a school essentials kit w/ gum, chapstick, locker magnets, and mech. pencils...i can't figure out what else to add
if you have anything else to add to that i would appreciate it very much!
thanks in advance for your help!
