This is stunning!  The drawing, the shading, the stiching...all so beautiful!  What talent, patience, and persistence you have!

I hope you'll answer a few more questions about technique...I am so in awe of this piece.

How did you accomplish the pretty pink in her cheeks?  Is that stitched or is it colored in
some other way?
 
And how did you do the lettering in the banner?  Did you satin stitch first and then stitch
the lettering on top of and through the satin stitch?  Or did you stitch the lettering first? 
What stitch did you use for the lettering?  And how did you accomplish the thick and thin
variations in the letters so they look like the pen-and-ink type of lettering from the original
drawing?
