21  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Rev Horton Heat T-shirt---> pencil skirt on: April 27, 2008 08:47:20 PM
Awesome skirt!!!  I heart the Reverend, when I saw him recently in Denver I was all excited because I got to meet Jello Biafra there.
22  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: cooking in dorm room on: March 19, 2008 07:14:44 PM
One thing I make, because it's super simple and I ALWAYS have Israeli Couscous is a spiced dish.  I don't have a recipe but basically put a few handfuls (maybe 1/4 cup each) of Israeli Couscous in a microwave safe bowl, add about a teaspoon of olive or vegetable oil in per handful and one LARGE pinch of Spike Seasoning Mix per handful, and add hot water, about twice the volume of the mixture in the bowl.  Microwave 5 minutes or until water is absorbed, and then add more water to the same line you filled it to before and microwave until THAT is all absorbed.

Ok, crappiest recipe I've ever written but it tastes good.

Similar thing happened to me recently...I'll sew a cute top!  (Maybe it won't be as cute as yours, but it's therapy) Grin
24  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: Marxism as fashion statement on: January 27, 2008 02:11:45 PM
<3!!!  I share a Birthday with Marx.  He's one of my many heroes (Billy Bragg is up there, too, and Jello Biafra).

Lol, communism and flowers!!!

I just made myself a Hammer and Sickle shoulder bag (Well, I'm working on it), but the symbol is bleached in.  I hope your friends likes this!  I know I would.

I LOVE Squidbillies!  Especially the grandmother.  These turned out awesome.
27  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Landladies of Colfax project on: December 12, 2007 11:40:04 AM
Hahaha!  Great idea!  I'm up on Auraria Campus, but I have a friend who lives in an apartment on Colorado and 12th (Near National Jewish).  I saw this and thought "Denver?"  That's very cute, though, I'm certain those landladies need some reassurance of kindness in the world. Cheesy
28  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: My Bone Necklace on: September 10, 2007 09:55:43 PM
That's uber cool! I don't suppose you have a picture of the skull? I could probably ID it for you, I tend to collect whatever I find on walks and I've gotten both cats and raccoons before.

I unfortunately havent got a picture of the skull, but the skull is rather thin, indicating that it was porbably very young at death.  The teeth, as far as I can tell, are feline, but the shape of the skull is like a dog's, in a way.  Both sides of the madible and maxilla were detached from the skull but when i place them where they go, it's almost a pear-shape, I suppose, but a much shorter snout.  When I get pictures I'll certainly post them.

That's a great dress!  I love the cute pin-up pictures, too.  Grin
30  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Nekromantix top on: September 09, 2007 08:23:37 PM
I made this from a big old shirt I got at a Nekromantix show.  I bought it as a small, but apparently "small" means it can fit a small aircraft carrier.  SO I put in side panels (green knit with black lace) and added eyelet tape straps, and continued the eyelet tape down the back and corset laced it.  If you can't tell (soryy, cell phone pix, I have no digicam in my dorm) the eyelet tape crosses in the back.
