2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Any one with info on older Kenmore's? on: September 30, 2008 01:48:00 PM
Hi my names Alissa and I have a problem....   I have way to many old sewing machines!!   Smiley  (heheheh) I'm running out of room!!

I've mostly got singers,  but I have just picked up a old kenmore from good will... (couldn't leave it there... it looked all sad and dirty!)
I've taken it all apart, cleaning it inside and out and oiled it,. now it runs great!!

I've looked on line to find out around what year it was made... much to my suprise.. I have yet to find a site that helps date it.
model # 158. 12391

any one with any info on this machine?
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Barbies all about the glitter dot, right? Now with action shot! on: June 26, 2008 04:10:59 PM
So I went out to a Gothic/industrial club for there anti-goth party... Smiley
Fun right!!  But everything I have is kinda goth/industrial..  expt this great big pink skirt I got a goodwill for $3 a while back..
So I needed to come up with a idea to use that.  So I decided to go as Barbie... how anti-goth is that! I even had a Blondie long wig..
I made this fashion corset in about a day., (mind you I woke up in CT, and started it at a friends house, drove home to Mass, finished it and went to the club)..
I thought it looked kinda Barbie... I mean... Barbie is all about the Glitter Dot fabrics right??

My friend just sent me a photo taken from the club, and yes this is the only photo I have of that night.  I had to cut my friend out of the photo due to the fact that she would kill me..  but here you have it:

Simplicity pattern # 5006 was used, but changes had to be made, I'm 100 lbs, and a A cup..  (also its not the best finishing job, I was in a rush to get to the club)
so do you thing Barbie would have worn it?

Front  (don't mind the face me and my boy can't be serious to save our lives)

P.s. I hope this works
Also don't mind the teal bra, its what i had on.....
