2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / pink and sparkly ds case. my first post yay! on: January 14, 2007 11:54:41 AM
Yes, that's right, I got off my lazy butt and finally did some crafting. (it's hard to do with twilight princess, im a zelda fangirl hehe)

so, quick, random side story, i went to wal-mart last night, and on a whim decided to check out their craft section and they had fab, fun felt so i bought it. headed back to my girlfriends house and  she decided to play some link to the past and i wasn't in the mood to rock out any final fantasy so i picked up the felt and this is what came out:

closed-with a sparkly clear button of my grandmother's i found

open-look the ds wants to come out and play!

there they are! hope ya like it, i know i do, she's so purrrrdy. oh, and it was all hand sewn, no pattern used. totally random whimmy sewing project Cheesy

oh and the button is actually THAT sparkly, it's not a reflection from the felt, i wish i could find more of those buttons!
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Awesome bead artist on: December 11, 2006 12:58:05 PM
I just came across an awesome artist on notcot that I thought y'all would appreciate. They are just gorgeous sculptures made with class beads, they are amazing! It would definitely be worth the time/inspiration to check it out.

4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / polymer votives? on: December 04, 2006 12:55:25 PM
Ok, so I saw a splenderific votive that i wanted to replicate with clear polymer clay, HOWEVER, being a nerd, I know that polymer clay has PVC in it, and I'm not quite sure whether burning a candle would let those toxins out, or if they are fully released in the baking process. Has anyone made polymer votives? Is this a no-no? Help would be welcomed so I don't inadvertantly make my family sick Roll Eyes
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / knitting bag and knitting needle holder on: December 03, 2006 02:19:21 PM
So I decided to get crafty and make the majority of my gifts this year, I just finished my first knitting bag and knitting needle case. I used the tut from the sha sha dream bags and changed some things a bit. It needs to be ironed still, but you get the gist. hope you like it. ooo and this is my first ever project post! *pats her back*

A few views of the bag:

A few views of the needle case:

the craft of the bag isn't exactly where i'd like it to be at, but alas, it was my first. once i get my mom to order some chinese, i'll be stealing the chopsticks and making my friend a set of knitting needles with some cute matching fimo tops of some sort. i used fabric scraps, left over ribbon and will be stuffing some extra balls of yarn into the bag that i had left over to inspire her to get knitting. total cost: $0. woohoo!
